Shoes were exactly as described. Fit was perfect. Very comfortable on my feet especially with the lambskin inner lining (can't wear unlined or rough leather against my skin). The blue color goes well with shorts and pants. First time with Sperry and will continue if they stand up to normal wear.Update (July 8, 2002) - Still very comfortable. For those interested, I can compare these with the top of the line Gold Cup crafted in Maine by noting the differences. The GC A/O are softer and comfortable from day 1 due to the lambskin lining, thinner full grain leather and Ortholite footbed. The outsoles are more flexible because of the rubber material. The GC CiM have thicker Horween leather that is perforated on the interior with small holes to provide a smooth surface for your bare skin, a diffrent orthotic foot bed insert and Vibram outsole. They are firmer but should soften during use as they conform to your feet.

This shoe is great. It fits as expected, molds to your foot, and generally very comfortable. There’s only one small issue: the footbed has a seam in it that isn’t stitched. It just has leather glued over other leather. This piece starts curling back after the first few uses and then becomes a permanent irritant on the footbed.

Don't expect arch support -- they are, after all, deck shoes.These are a little more dressy than the classic white-soled top-sider with the two-tone leather: But the contrast is subtle and gives it a pleasant saddle-style touch. I typically wear these with the laces tied in a reef knot, the ends hanging loose in triple-overhand stopper knots. The laces are long enough to accommodate, and it all looks quite nice without being overbearing. Being a little more dressy, these might look disjointed with very causal dress (e.g., cut-offs or Bermuda shorts) but they look stellar with jeans, casual slacks, or pressed khaki/white shorts.Note that the base color is true to the image and is dark (don't confuse with the lighter "classic" color). However, the image can be a little misleading regarding the accent color: Some see it as cordovan or even a dark burgundy. No, it is brown -- but a lighter brown. The grommets are pulling away slightly, but that might just be because of the flex in the leather; but with a shiny brass tone they really "pop."
