Excellent entry level tablet with Samsung's features and performance
I purchased this specifically because I needed a knock around tablet that was more compact than my Tab Pro 12.2. I was looking more for basic web access, calendar and email on the go, so power and storage were not principal considerations. Also, as an FYI, mine was refurbished and provided by Direct Distributor, and since sellers vary I want to cite my experience with the specific one from which I purchased this. As a basic tablet this is excellent. It has the Samsung user interface to which I have grown accustomed, and even though this is an older tablet with little storage it was still pretty snappy for browsing the web and other common tasks. I also love the display. Despite the lower resolution than most tablets in 2016, it's still vivid and easy on the eyes. I thought 7 inches would be hard to read (after using a 12.2 inch tablet), but it isn't. I did increase the memory with a 32GB SD card I had laying around (a SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC UHS-I Card .) This arrived at 90% battery charge, so I was able to use it immediately. The initial set up screens take about ten minutes. An original Samsung charger and charging cable was bundled with it. Aside from the SD card the only other accessory I bought was a Tab 4 Case, Galaxy Tab 4 7.0-inch case, OMIU(TM)3-Piece In 1 (Black+Purple) Durable Silicone Plastic Combo Shockproof Case , which was less than fifteen bucks and almost as good as a more expensive OtterBox Defender. So total cost of this tablet, extra memory and a decent case was less than 150 bucks! Bottom line: I am thrilled with this tablet - for what it is and what I paid - and have recommended it to friends who are considering a tablet, but are not sure. The performance and features, combined with the low price of a refurbished unit make it a relatively safe, entry level purchase.

I LIKE IT!
There are so many things you can do with a tablet. Having one is almost a necessity. My intentions for mine are for use as a Roku remote, remotely telling my Directv DVR to record programs, listening to Amazon Music (which is a lot better than the non-subscription version of Pandora), and so many other things that I can't list them... Of course I am swapping around my micro SD cards among my devices so I can put a 64gb card in my new tablet. I have to buy another one, but making sure my Samsung tablet has the maximum capacity is a priority. This is a great little tablet. Even though I paid $80 less than the $200 retail price because mine is refurbished, there are no scuffs or any indications of wear on it. It's new, really. It came in a generic brown box with enough bubble padding to make sure nothing got damaged, along with the USB cable and a plug for wall outlet charging. It has a port for ear buds, which I have ordered and a micro USB port for charging from my computer. Other than a very small user manual, that's all that was in the box.

Awesome tablet with some modifications
Overall you cant get a better tablet for the price. It is not top of the line, but it is great in its own right if you do a few things to it. 1) root it 2) modify the code to make Chrome act as a desktop browser 3) delete obvious boatware 4) install better video app 5) only use a Class 10 UHS-3 Micro SD card from a well know company that is within the size restrictions of the tablet you have (32gb or 64gb). You wont be able to use the SD card for anything if you don't. 6) install app that modifies code to make tablet use SD card as primary. I have a SanDisk Extreme PRO Class 10 UHS-3 memory card. It works like a charm to watch videos and run games off of.

Love this table enough to buy more when one got stolen
I have the 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab and my son kept on borrowing it because he thought it was cool. So I bought one for him for his birthday. One day as he was out and about, running errands and visiting folks, that tablet got stolen. My son was in a financially tight time of his life at that time so I saw this on sale and got it as a replacement gift after he completed a course of study. So other than I am a mom who spoils her adult son, the point of this review is I like the Samsung tablets enough to own one and buy them for my son, repeatedly. We like the apps we can download, we like the size, the display. We get the carrier with the bluetooth keyboard that works wonderfully with this Samsung tablet. It is light weight even with the carrier. Now if he can just keep his backpack zipped up and close to him in coffee shops we'll be right as rain.

Excellent replacement for Samsung Tab 4 Nook
My latest Nook died and this has been a great replacement. Although it is a reconditioned unit, it looks and acts brand new. It arrived securely packaged and the charger works well. I am very pleased with my purchase; the price was excellent and the free next day shipping was a bonus. This is a small tablet that I am using as a PDA: I use it to check my calendar and social media. At 8 m b ram, and an older Android OS, it won't work for most complicated games, but I have another, larger tablet for that. It is fine for checking email, Facebook and my calendar.

A lot of money wasted.
I received my Tab in a really beaten up, torn, sticky original box. Thankfully the inside of the box was clean and contained everything I needed. I've never owned a tab before, so I need to learn more about its potential before I judge that. It was in good shape, but when I turned it on after charging, there is a ghost image on the very bottom of the screen, about an inch long. On a colored background it's not obvious, but on a white background it is easily spotted. But for the price, it shouldn't be a deal-breaker. Update11 months later. After using this lightly for 11 months, it stopped working. It won't connect to the Internet, which renders it pretty useless. I'm so sad about spending all that money for less than a year of very light use.
