Definitely helps with Migraines
I bought this cap to help with migraines. A cold cloth or ice pack when you have a migraine can offer some relief but they either don't get cold enough or stay cold long enough. I found this item during a search for an alternative and after reading the reviews decided to give this a go. After using this cap with several migraines I have mostly wonderful things to say about it and only a few minor negatives. Pros: This thing gets cold and I mean freezing cold and it will stay cold for at least an hour. When I go to bed with a migraine, this thing is cold long enough for me to go to sleep. The cap is also a snug fit which is a great bonus because the tightness of the cap applies pressure which when combined with the cold is a winning combo! The cap is sectioned out in squares and inside each square is an ice cube which can be moved or pushed to the area that is hurting. The ice cubes are hard but not so hard that you can't lay down on them. I can use this cap sitting in a chair or sleeping in bed and I never have to fear it will fall off! Cons: The cap will probably freeze your eyeballs! No matter how you put the cap on, there is always an ice cube close to your eyes. If you headache is coming from your eyes then this is a good thing but if you are experiencing pain from another part of your head, then your eyes are going to hurt from the cold. Also, the square sections of the cap are too large (in my opinion). The cubes can only be moved around within their square and this means that when you put the cap on, that you might not be able to get a cube to actually sit on or be near your source of pain. I actually had this happen a few times. I think the squares should be smaller which would allow for more ice which in turn would provide for more coverage. I considered these Cons to be minor because I was able to come up with a solution for both cons. For the ice not getting to the right area, I found that I could turn my cap sideways or put it on halfway and that would put a square in the right place. The cap is designed to go on one way so it can be a little uncomfortable when you have to wear it off center but not as uncomfortable as a migraine. My favorite solution was for the eyeball freezing part. which required the use of a sleeping mask that I had bought on Amazon but didn't really like. The sleeping mask that I bought had claimed to have a Velcro band to help keep it secure at night but when I got it, there was no Velcro - it was just an elastic band which means it would slip off each and every night and I ended up throwing that sleeping mask in a drawer. That is until I got this cap. What I do is place the sleeping mask on my face and then place the cap over it. This had 3 positive side affects. The first was that the sleeping mask created a barrier between the cap and my eyes. I can still feel the coolness but its not so cold as to hurt my eyes anymore. The second was that the combination of the sleeping mask and the cap created a complete blackout from any and all light. As anyone who has ever suffered from a migraine knows - light is pain! And the third benefit is the cap is tighter on my head when I am wearing the sleeping mask which means it creates more pressure and pressure is relief where a migraine is concerned. I really love this item even with the cons I had mentioned. I might have felt differently if I hadn't been able to find a solution for them, but I did and I will never be without one of these. If they ever create an "Upgraded" version with smaller squares and maybe a built in eye cover that can be removed if needed, then I will be the first in line to purchase! I love this thing so much that I bought a second one and when I don't have a headache, they are both in the freezer and when a migraine hits me - I can rotate between the two and always have a cold cap handy if I need it. If you are a migraine sufferer and are looking for something to offer relief, then pull out your favorite sleeping mask and give this thing a try.

This is a really good product!
Really nice for the headaches. Sometimes my husband and I fight over it!!! Not too heavy and stays on nicely, sometimes I even fold it under my neck when it hurts.

Worth it
Love these hats! They definitely come in handy when you have a migraine. The only bad thing about them is they don’t stay cold for long. They stay cold for about 45 minutes. I have other hats that stay cold for about an hour and a half.

Best ice cap for migraines! Don't need to put it in your freezer. Refrigeration works great.
I have previously reviewed this migraine ice cap but would like to add more now that I have had it for a few weeks. I absolutely love this cap! For me it is the perfect fit & just the right amount of compression. I have read where some customers have found this ice cap to be too cold. I found the same thing when I kept it in the freezer. However, by storing it just in the refrigerator I find it has a perfect chill to it at just the right amount of coolness. So problem solved, at least for me. I love this cap so much that I find I have fallen asleep many times with my cap on. I have had severe & debilitating migraines from the age of 18, & am now 69! How I wish this cap had been available many decades ago!

comfy, but stays cold/cool only 15 minutes!!! - BUY THE TWO-PACK RIGHT AWAY
BUY THE TWO-PACK RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE YOU WILL MOST LIKELY NEED TWO SINCE THEY LAST ONLY 15 MINUTES. NOW I HAVE TO BUY A 2ND ONE AT A MUCH HIGHER PRICE AND I'M KICKING MYSELF FOR NOT BUYING THE TWO-PACK RIGHT AWAY. ARRRGHHHHHH. I don't have debilitating migraines, but painkillers are not always effective and I don't want to take them often because of rebound headaches, bad for the liver, build up tolerance, etc. Ice has been very reliable, but lying down with a slippery ice pack for an hour is annoying and frankly a waste of my time. I did a TON of research on ALL the headache hats on Amazon and bought this one. Purchased 29-Jul-2021 & put in freezer 1st use 11-Aug-2021 The hat is soft fabric (like swimsuit spandex) and comfortable. There are two rings of small ice packs that go around the head. There is no ice pack for the top of the head, but there is plenty of extra fabric and I believe that a sewist (like myself) would be able to easily add more pockets for more ice packs. The spandex fabric provides just enough pressure (for my size head) although I actually had to pull the hat up, off my temples, because the cold was a bit too much just out of the freezer. So it treated the top half of my head. As the ice packs lost their initial icy-ness, I was then able to pull it back down on my temples. The ice packs are NOT frozen hard; they are pliable like typical gel icepacks. Therefore the hat slides on the head comfortably. The ice packs stayed icy-cold for about 10 minutes and they were no longer cold/cool after an additional 20 minutes. I may buy a 2nd hat so that I can rotate them for when I need more than 30 mins of treatment. This is the only CON so far: doesn't stay cold long. Ideally I would prefer it to stay cold (not cool) for an hour (longer would be even better). The hat did not have any obvious, odd smells when I opened it. (As with any new garment, wash it before wearing; handwash this hat.) And my hat has not absorbed any freezer smells--although my freezers (fridge & floor) do not smell at all, even though they are full. I imagine, as with any fabric, it will absorb smells if your freezer DOES smell (this seems like a personal problem that should be addressed by perhaps deep-cleaning the freezer and regularly rotating through food? I've never known anyone to have a smelly freezer.) 17-Aug-2021 edit: reduced from 4 to 3 stars because after the initial use above, I've used it another day and it was room-temp in 15 minutes......after more than 48 hours in the (fridge's) freezer!!! I need at least an hour of an ICE-COLD pack on my head, so I am pretty disappointed. Switching to store it in my chest freezer, hopeful that helps keep it colder longer.
