Works, but has some problems...
I used something like this with good results almost 20 years ago. For me the main function of a support like this is for the bottom strap to run under the heel. This pulls the heel up and the toes down, the same action as the Achilles tendon. It is in effect helping the tendon flex the joint, so it takes load off the tendon. This wrap has a rather thick stiff pad that bears right on the tendon. I not sure what the purpose is, but I found it painful, and it prevents the the top strap from wrapping around the ankle securely. So I remove the pad. Also the velcro pads are placed on the wrap, so that the hooks face the skin. So they dig into the skin where ever they overlap any skin. I wear the wrap over my sock to avoid this discomfort. This is fine as long as you don't mind the wrap being visible.

Very helpful for Posterior Tibial tendón pain
I have a torn PT tendon and though this described for Achilles it was the best I’ve found my PTT. Provides support right along the inside ankle while I tested it.

Rubbing on Heel
I wore this while playing basketball because I was having heel pain and it rubs really bad on your heel to the point it starts to blister. Do not recommend it if you are doing any cardio activity. Also it did not reduce any pain or tightness.

Pulled Achilles
Not sure of this brace effectiveness. Suffered a partial tear while wearing it and it didn't seem to relieve Achilles tendinitis pain.

The Velcro closure scratches the skin
Fits well and puts (adjustable) pressure on the Achilles. My issue is with the Velcro. The hard/ pokey side faces toward your skin and is just a bit wider than the soft side so the edge of the hard/pokey side scratches at your skin when you move. I'm going to try trimming the pokes off and see if that helps, otherwise I'll have to wear it over strategically placed band-aids.

I can wear this strap and walk all day long.
I can wear this strap and walk all day long and have no pain from my Achilles tendon. I found that it took a while to put the strap on correctly, but once I did I was golden. Very pleased with this purchase. I also had to exchange it because I accidentally ordered the wrong size but as usual, Amazon had it back to me very quickly with the correct size.

REALLY helped me!
I took an antibiotic that damaged my tendons and it has hurt to walk for a long time. I got this and I can walk again. I LOVE IT!
