Skippyjon Jones Cirque de Ole

This is an exceptionally good book in a WONDERFUL series. I own the whole series because my family and I enjoy these books so much even though they’re made for children. We would all highly recommend them. Something to be aware of is there is Spanish phrases throughout this book, and the other books in the series. I have started a collection of children’s books to have if I would have my own kids someday, books I like, or books I remember reading as a kid.

I have new readers and was trying to entice my kids to read and listen to me read and take time off of screens!!! They love these and giggle the entire way through the book.

Love the Skippyjon series books. Surprised to find on Amazon as they are out of print. Skippy is bold and curious. I bought 6 titles for this grandchild.

My son LOVES Skippyjon Jones. These books are beautifully illustrated. These stories are always fun, silly and full of imagination. They introduce a splash of foreign language and use a range of vocabulary that you do not often come across in children's books. They always include a few short silly songs to sing and clap to with your kids. We LOVE the audio discs in the back!! She reads with such enthusiasm! I also like the pocket in the back to keep the cd safe and with the book. The author covers so many places and events that the children can relate to and there is always a good moral hidden in all of the silliness :) We are in love with these books, they are definitely a favorite in my house. After reading and saying our prayers, I often turn one of the Skippyjon cd's on for him to fall asleep to. This also helps improve his reading and language skills. Now that he is six, he likes to read to me too. It is nice that when he comes to a complicated word, he not only uses context clues and can sound out parts of them, but can also remember some of the words from hearing them so often and remembering the story. I think every child should have these in their personal library!!! I can't wait to check out the board books for our youngest who just turned one!

The media could not be loaded.  The book is in an okay condition but there was a sharp staple sticking out of the binding that I’m glad I noticed before I let my kiddo play/read with it. :( It doesn’t look super big in the video but it’s definitely sharp.

Skippito friskito is back-ito and kitty boy is going to the circus with his doggy-pals, los chimmichangas. They sneak into the Cirque De Olé, past the léones, tigres and osos and into the strong dog's dressing room. Skippyjon's friends help their chico grow muy grande músculos to disguise him as the stong dog. When Putzi Shtrungleboot the REAL strong dog catches the gang, he is not happy! It is up to Skippito to save the day(ito)!Why I liked this book - Like I said before, Josie and I LOVE Skippyjon Jones. The books are just AWESOME to read out loud. The rhymes and rhythm of the story is just fun PLUS you learn Spanish along the way. I love that Skippyjon is a cat who thinks he is a dog (his mom is pretty annoyed with that). The story in Cirque De Olé is really fun too. Skippyjon gets sent to his room by his mom for a time-out and Skippyjon's imagination takes him to the circus. I think it shows kids how you can have a cool adventure by just using your imagination. I think everyone, including Siamese cats and Chihuahuas, will love this book! The copy we bought had a CD in it too with Ms. Schachner reading the book on it. That was cool to hear her read her own book!

not sure why there are so many concerned moms hating on skippyjon. I love skippyjon and my kids love these books too. Hr is a mischievous little cat, true, but what little boy isn't? if you're worried a cartoon cat may influence your child's behavior then you've got some serious anxiety issues. These are playful, creative and hilarious books that most kids seem to enjoy; he gets into adventures and imagines whole worlds in his closet, it is a very imaginative setting. Five stars, every book... buy it! your kids will love it!

We have every one of Judy Schachner's Skippyjon Jones books, in hard cover because they are read so often. Our collection would not be complete without this one! Once again, Judy Schachner has hit a literary home run with this wonderful story about the little Siamese cat who believes he is a Chihuahua. The story line is very clever and is appealing to all ages. Children, of course, find the story very funny and very entertaining. The surprise is just how funny adults can find this story, with the author's use of some clever references to people and events with which we all can find resonance. A must for every cat lover, and for everyone who has ever been or known an adventurous child with an active imagination!

As usual in the Skippyjon Jones series, this book is fun, funny, uses a lot of play on words, and serves us a small dose of Spanish. My 6 year old finds this book hilarious.

This book was fun to read and reminded me about the crazy imaginations that kids have. I will be purchasing the rest of the Skippyjon Jones books.. An excellent read!
