Q: Would this be a good knife for hunting?

I love this knife and I take it with me, everywhere, as it is a great camp knife and very handy in many applications. I'm not sure what you are hunting. I don't know that this knife is long enough to field dress a deer, depending on its size, but it should be more than adequate for anything smaller.

Q: Does this sheath have a belt loop

The sheath which came with it has a belt loop.

Q: Has anyone tried carving with this? Not necessarily fine woodwork, but perhaps a kuksa in the field? Something finer than pegs/stakes for your tarp.

This is a blade better suited for hunting as it has a large belly and short blade. Works great for field dressing and skinning. I usable for wood carving, but I prefer a thinner longer blade such as a Mora 106.

Q: Its a nice looking knife and pricey. Would this be a good paring or kitchen daily knife, hand washed only? Thanks

With strong use, the blade of the Arv will begin to lose its original luster but the stainless steel will allow it to polish up quickly and clean off easily.
