I have a whip antenna, originally purchased for a different radio, that has the identical SMA connection to that on the antenna post of the new radio I wanted to attach it to. One of the connectors in this set works perfectly since it is also the same on both ends. So I now have a working antenna for my radio with 2 dbi gain over the stock antenna.

Fortunately, i purchased more than one set of these to do the kind of connecting needed. The male/female parts got a bit annoying in not having one to fit another for a double connection, but the job got done, despite this small obstacle. They worked very well in the end.

I liked the low price, but disliked the gnawing anxiety about whether they will hold up in the long run. I have no evidence that they will not so my anxiety may be unfounded. Many "premium priced parts sold by US companies were possibly made be the same Chinese company.
