It Works...but think before you replace.
Ok ...FIRST OF ALL SEE "jeffs" review. If they wear out it is not the products fault. On my Maytag MDE 6400ayq I will describe what i think has happend and then the remedy to fix it. Symptoms were...noise ...squeak squeak squeak ...then nothing...but black spot appear on clothes like grease. Find for a while apart from the squeak...then more grease spots. Plenty of videos out there for you model to take it apart, BUT! ONCE YOU ARE IN THERE YOU WILL BE HORRIFYED!. MY MACHINE...when i took it apart I think i could have grown tomatoes in the lint build up in there! motor? what motor i didnt have one...suffice to say once i had hovered everthing out i could see the wood for the trees. The problem is the front guides (bearings) wear out....now the drum is not level...so the back bearings hit the drum at an angle and the rubber on them wears out. The drum now at an angle is rubbing on metal and felt at the front and is putting pressure on the back bearings ripping them apart slowly....3-6 months later you get burnt rubber not grease on your clothes...bad squeak and noisy machine. REMEDY FOR A FULL PROFESSIONAL JOB (once you have got in to it and hovered everything out): 1. set of rear bearings with new washers, clips and spindels, one tension pully wheel and a new belt. (cost $35) complete set. 2. one set of front bearings (guides) as above. (cost $9). 3.One set of new felt for front and rear of the drum (cost $20). TOOLS NEEDED: 1. cross head screwdriver. 2. pair pair of pliers. 3. rivet gun. 4. small socket set ( 8mm 10mm 13 mm) 5. one 13mm ring spaner (wrench) for the right hands rear bearing as you can't get a socket on it. NOW THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT. (READ JEFFS COMMENTS) IF YOUR FRONT OF THE DRUM IS POLISHED....DO NOT PUT IT BACK THAT WAY! TURN IT AROUND, MEASURE YOUR DRUM AND IF IT IS EVEN DO THIS. Rub the only front of you drum with 400...600..1200 wet and dry paper...then metal polish it with brasso. This is now your new back drum. OLD BACK, NOW NEW FRONT, should be in perfect condition...pure white as the driven snow. Replace it this way...if it lasted 15 years the other way and you did nothing ...it will last 20 years this way if your check the front bearings in 5 years time! Good luck fellow DIYers. Even with tools your looking at under $100, without tools if you have about $65.

Good value
Take your time and have patience. These are very simple to install...more simple than easy. Really helps in the dryer's smooth drum rotation. My old ones were still working fine, but got the dryer in 1970...so, time for preventative maintenance.

Perfect fit
Worked perfectly. Easy to put on, you just need a rivert gun. I saved hundreds doing it myself.

Fits correctly. No instructions.
Fits correctly and product works when installed. No instructions provided and installation requires special tool, blind rivet gun.

Restore your older Maytag drier
These are the front sliding pads that the drum rides on. If your drier is making a screeching noise as it rotates, these pads have worn through. If you have any mechanical inclination at all, these are simple and straightforward to install.

Short lived and basically unacceptable
Ordered in 2022 for future use. Finally installed them in Dec 2023. (It can never be an easy installation!) Within 3 weeks we noticed a problem with black junk (graphite?) flaking everywhere inside the dryer. We cleaned it up, did a minor mod and hoped for the best. Six weeks later I opened the dryer again to find even MORE black graphite and both of the glides were worn thru after a total lifetime of TWO months compared to 400+ months for the originals.Using plain cork we got an extra 18 months use until Dec '23. The blue plastic is much less durable than cork? The cork pieces we reused but the blue stuff (some sort of graphite infused junk) is totally unacceptable for this use. I went to a local supplier and bought some 1/16" teflon sheet and made my own glide strips to replace the horrible blue things. This did not work much better and lasted only 11 weeks until totally worn thru; it shed white flakes instead of black ones. Neither the Amazon offering (graphite infused Teflon?) or pure Teflon is not an acceptable material.Went to a different local supplier of plastics and got some 1/16" thick acetal which is a 'wear' material. Very much better - after 8 weeks there is NO sign of any shedding.Don't waste your time or money. This item is NOT durable or acceptable for a drier glide. Buy acetal instead.Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal, polyacetal and polyformaldehyde is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability.

Horrible quality
These were slightly smaller than the OEM part. It made installation a little more difficult but not too bad. Quality of these are horrible. They only last 5 months before they failed. I would not recommend them.
