Hammer handle has held up so far
Yes. Handles on stone tools like this break often. Day one so far so good.

Works for cutting sole boulders into rough flagstones
I tried to cut a boulder into flagstones and it worked within minutes! Kind of amazing! I just chipped along as straight a line as I could and it created a perfect crack in short order! IThen tried on another stone but it must have been too hard or the veins were going g the wrong way. But as long as ICan figure out which stones are soft this willbe awesome. Wear protective eyewear and whatever else you are supposed to. Shoots rocks in your face as you chisel.

Handle problem
The hammer works well. The handle split in two the second day of use.

Poor Quality Hammer
Hammer handle broke after 15 minutes of gentle use. reached out to company for a new handle. They asked for pics, proof of purchase and "part number" for the broken 16 inch hickory handle. Sent them pics of hammer and proof of purchase. Could not find the "part number" on the handle. Still waiting to hear from them. The company (Marshalltown) customer service was outstanding. I asked for a handle and they sent me a new hammer. With that said, I hope this hammer lasts longer then the first one! Stay tuned....

Its a 3lb mason's hammer
I mostly use Trow and Holden tools for stone work because I'm lucky to live within a few miles of the factory in Barre,VT. I was surprised to see a 3lb masons hammer at this price because most would be hundreds. Its a little misleading to say country of origin is US because these are made in Taiwan. I guess thats why the price point is much lower. The tool works fine but doesnt have a concave head thats easy for trimming. I think a silicon carbide wheel could make one with this steel.

Handle
Second hit handle broke so not sure how well the head works on stone but handle is lacking.

Very Cheap quality- Dont buy!
I took three swings with this hammer and the head immediately came loose. Also, no grip on the handle so it easily takes flight. With or without gloves.

bad.
This hammer is described as a stone masons hammer. I understand that for the price point I should not be expecting too much, but when taking this out to some local chert, the hammer’s edge becomes totally dull in a matter of minutes. Don’t waste your money. Go get a real tool and pay too dollar elsewhere. I would give 0 stars if possible.
