My two cats (15 and 8 years old) were tearing through the tiny round pads that go in the middle of the ball chase game so fast that it was starting to get expensive. I bought one of these to try and slow that down. Best decision I ever made.In my opinion this scratch pad wears like iron. I bought my first one, give or take, about two years ago. My two cats loved it. So much so in fact that my sister took notice and bought one for her 2 cats. They both love it as well. Both of mine went at it for about a year and a half before I wound up with a third stray (1year old). Some filthy excuse for a human being shot her, and she is now a "lefty" tripod. My first two after a year and a half didn't really put much of a dent in it. My tripod on the other hand,(no pun intended) with her concentrated left hand digging, has managed in about 5+ months to get about a quarter of the way through it. Best part is though, if things continue the same, and she makes it all the way through in the next 15 months, you just flip it over, and it's brand new again on the other side.After 2+ years of use I'm not buying this new one because my other one wore out yet. I'm buying this one because my tripod has taken over the old one and claimed it as her own. The other two never get a chance because she's always on it. So, I'm buying this one, #1 because I already know the durability, and quality. #2 The other two need it, and I already know they love it. #3 It was on sale. Which doesn't really matter because I would have paid the extra 20% or 30% for this scratcher again anyway. But it helps, and I appreciate the discount. I definitely recommend this 100%.

My cat has loved this from the beginning. I bought it over 2 years ago and it's finally wearing out, at least as far as scratching goes, but still makes a good perch/bed. I've been thinking of buying a new one, but was also wondering how I could extend its life by using the perfectly good surface inside. I finally said what the heck, so now she has two perfectly new surfaces to scratch and when stacked, it still makes a good place from which to nap or observe her domain.Amazingly, the price has dropped over the two years I've had it and I will definitely buy a new one when this wears out - again.

My cats took to this scratch lounge immediately and love it. They use it several times a day - even more than their carpeted and sisal scratchers - and they also enjoy lounging on top of it. It feels sturdy, stable, looks nice, and so far (after 5 days), I haven't had any cardboard bits to clean up yet, which was a problem with cheaper cardboard scratchers I've had in the past. I was really hesitant to buy this because of many reviews mentioning a strong permeating smell, but mine didn't have an odor at all - so either the company fixed the problem or I just got lucky! While I find it to be a little pricey for cardboard, the quality and how much my cats like it and actually use it make it worthwhile.

She LOVES this. She's a fat cat - 21 pounds - but still fits on it (tummy hangs off a little). She instantly knew to scratch it. It came with some cat nip to sprinkle on it to get her interested. We have had it for months and haven't had to flip it over yet - which is cool, once one side is destroyed you can just flip it over. It doesn't make much of a mess at all on the floor. This has kept her from scratching other furniture, she knows its hers. So happy with the purchase!

These are the best cat loungers out there. I have tried many others but keep coming back as my Esther only likes this one. She uses it for scratching and sleeping/lounging. I've been ordering these on and off since 2014 and they have always been great quality and long lasting. Love that when one side gets worn you can flip it to the new side and start over. Seems a lot to pay for a big piece of cardboard but the kitties love em so who am I to question it? Haha

My cat loves this! Have had for around 10 months or so and it's still in good condition. Used both to lounge bur mostly used for a quick scratch (keeps her from scratching the couch, lil). She's getting our money's worth for sure. And only one side has been scratched so far!

My cat absolutely loves his scratcher. I keep it next to my bed, and he now prefers this over my bed! :))) He seems to love the cardboard material on his nails. Bonus points since he uses it for his daily naps. It’s also very aesthetically pleasing in my apartment.

My cat loves to scratch and lay on this. There is one significant issue though. It stinks. It smells bad. The smell doesn't fill a room, but you can smell it if you sit down near it. I have an air filter going right next to it, but it still smells and I've had it sitting out for a long time. If you can put up with the smelly cardboard, it is a good product.
