Rear Projection Lamp works Fine and fit perfectly, but housing was missing both mounting screws. One screw from existing housing broke during replacement procedure, but luckily one of the many PC fasteners I had substituted for broken screw.

much better than the after-market brand. Totally worth the extra money paid for it.Slipped right in just like it should. I could tell already from the casing that it is a bit more robust.I've bought the cheap one twice before. The first one was a bear to put in. Two trips to Home Depot thinking I needed longer screws becuase it just would not screw tight. Then I added just a little more muscle and it popped in. The 2nd one, i figured I would be smarter and add more muscle off the bat. IT WOULD NOT GO IN. No matter how hard, it would find the right sitting to go into the fittings. Blame the manufacture on the casing for the lamp. Ultimately, the casing broke trying to go in... so I went with this OEM part and haven't looked back.I took the risk with the other ones, as you can tell by the split feedback. It's hit or miss.This one is a winner.

New Life for my Mitisibushi Diamond rear projection TV. We've replaced most of our TV's with high-end Samsung LCD Displays, but we do have a gameroom that was using an old LG Plasma. It was burning in with the video games, so I picked this up to find new use for my Miti. I used the remote to check the lamp hours, and I had something like 5200 hours on the old one. Switching out was as easy as removing two screws and plugging in an old "Game Cartridge". The new lamp was a noticeable improvement, but don't expect something as bright as a modern LCD. It's back to original (or better) brightness... but technology has improved. This still works great in a relatively shaded room, and it beats laying out $1000 for a new TV. I expect we'll do that eventually (in a year or two), but this buys us time... and it looks great again.

I ordered 2 of these bulbs from Exclusive Bulbs for my Mitsubishi WD-73833. Both of them did not work when installed. I returned the first one and ordered a 2nd hoping it was a fluke. Then when the 2nd one didn't work, I thought I'd examine it closer to determine the problem. Both bulbs gave ERROR CODE 66 - NO LAMP. After examining the 2nd bulb, I noticed that the 2 connectors on the plug that actually makes the connection to the TV - the wires inside the plastic plug were not sticking out as far as my on old bulb. I took my needle-nose pliers and gently pulled the wires inside the plug connector out another 1/8-1/4" until they were near flush with the edge of the plastic plug connector and tried it again. This time it worked. So YES these bulbs work, but I'm giving it 3 stars because of poor assembly. They may not work without manually fiddling with the connectors.

Good and bad. One reason i knocked it down is that there is normally a little rectangular screen covering the opening to where the bulb is located and it was missing. I don't know its exact function, but it was present on the first two bulb enclosures that I've had.The second, more important reason is that when the TV first comes on the bulb is VERY dim and gradually brightens up (takes a minute or so). This is my third bulb and the only one that had this characteristic. I'm concerned that it is not functioning normally and this may be a sign that it is defective and on its way out.On the good side, when it finally warms up, the product definitely added brightness to the picture. In fact, I had to dial down the brightness level on the TV. Waiting to see what happens.

I have replaced the lamp in my HDTV twice now, both times with this same bulb. Everything I have read says to use a genuine Philips bulb in my Mitsubishi DLP, and I have never strayed. Easy to replace in my TV, there are only two screws holding this light assembly in, and it took longer to actually move the TV to get to the back of it than it did to replace the bulb. You could risk going with a cheaper bulb, but from what I have read you will not likely get the longevity of the Philips bulb in an off brand, so why mess around. We use our TV a lot of hours and these seem to last a long time.

If you've ever replaced a dlp lamp with an aftermarket bulb you'll know that they just aren't as bright as the factory unit. Some last longer some last shorter. This came exactly as pictured with the bulb heat shield mesh, factory bulb, factory housing, and new hardware, in a factory box. Much brighter than the aftermarket bulb that it replaced. I had to turn the brightness down! I seem to only get about a year or 2 out of these due to heavy use. I've had no issues with this factory replacement.

I bought a replacement lamp from a Mitsubishi dealer and paid $250 plus tax. Before going through a dealer again, I decided to search Amazon to see how much a replacement lamp would cost. Initially I ordered a lamp for less than $30 and thought this was too good to be true so I re-read the reviews which stated that the individuals had problems with their lamps. I subsequently canceled my $30 order and decided to order this lamp and pay more. It was the best decision I made. The installation was easy and the lamp has been working just fine. The next time I need a replacement lamp, I will definitely order this from the same vendor. I am a very satisfied customer!!
