Requires batteries
Fast shipping, electronic launch igniter system works perfectly! I used a 11.1v 3S LiPo with 1100mah and a JST connector but can also use 6 alkaline "C" batteries.

Great Little Launcher!
Spent a lot of frustrating hours trying to build my own, threw in the towel and bought a real live launch controller. This one is very nicely made. The plastic case is heavy duty and everything seems high quality and well fitted/designed. Have not actually launched a rocket with it yet but have tested it with an e - match. Price point was good and it works great!

Model rocket launch controller
Loved the dual button to launch with the audible before launching rocket. Wish I was able to get sooner.

Works great with the lipo option
I had been using the Estes Electron Beam launch controller that came with the starter kit but when I bought a rocket that used Aerotech motors and igniters, it didn’t have the power to ignite it!I was running RC stuff that day too, so I pulled the wires out of it and touched them across a 3s lipo I had. That worked great and I was going to keep it that way.But a couple weeks later I saw this pop up on sale and decided yo buy it.It has an option to install a small lipo using a jst plug. I put a 3s 1000mah lipo in it and it has ignited everything I have thrown at it!I checked the battery after 10 launches and it was still reading over 4 volts per cell!!I could have kept using the wire to battery method but this adds an air of professionalism to our launch days.

Does the job
I added 80ft of cable to launch my HPR and it does the job just fine. Just make sure to use good batteries bc it does make a difference

Positive control over rocket launches
What I like is that the controller has a 2-step process with visual and audio feedback. Alter some frustration with other controllers, I decided to get this one and it proved very reliable. My 10-year old grandson was able to master the launch sequence, as well as the safety features provided by the key and launch rod cap.Although it is intended for the multiple motor launches, it works very well for the most basic launch.

Engineers need to rethink this- Better quality components would improve this controller
Expensive for the quality. I’m hoping someday Estes will bring manufacturing back to the US.I like the features. Feel the rocker switches are flimsy and may wear out.Purchased two lipo 1100 mah batteries with JST connector- fit of JST connector is loose - and battery was a 3S, (took some manipulation to get to fit and stay in placeThe safety key is a loose fit. Be nicer if it was keyed or better quality- simple pin and chunk of plastic 😕If you use frequently, you may have issues later with loose battery cover. Requires removal of 5-6 screws to open battery pack (foolish design) plastic and metal screws will be an issue later (holes will become loose if not careful6 “C” size batteries will make it a bit heavy. The liPo batteries are nice - (Estes could do all a favor and recommend a brand that fits. - likely wear or damage springs that are for the C size batteries (had to cram the liPo battery in place and make sure it was pushing against the JST connector to keep it from falling outIf I decide to keep it, I will be modifying it to. Allow external power source without removing the cover. This will allow me to swap out batteries if neededI want something that will launch quite a few rockets for a STEM event and this was my hope. Too disappointed in the smaller controllers Estes sell. Will update as I see how this works.

Couldn’t get to work
I am sure there is some user error involved with this, but bottom line is I couldn’t get it to work. I hope it’s me and not the product itself.
