Everything Is God: The Radical Path of Nondual Judaism

What Was needed Now
I tried to read this book about a year ago but at the time found it dualistic and I now see why. I needed to go through my own personal process of experiencing non-duality for 'myself' and, in the immutable Now, I'm able to return to my Jewish mystic roots with wisdom and understanding and gratitude and Know mystical union. My understanding of Self differs from Jay's in two important ways, first heart knows unity and mind creates duality, and second, Being is not playing with multiplicity but is playing with a continuumappearing as polarity which, from within the polarity, appears as multiplicity, and, thereby, One does not change in an absolute sense. Regardless, read this book if you have an affinity for Jewish mysticism and nonduality if for no other reason than to enrich your understanding of Self.

Deep!
A very deep and beautifully moving testimony about the true nature of God. This isn’t the God of your Hebrew or Sunday school that’s for sure! This is basically how I have almost always understood God. Relying heavily on the mysticism of Kabbalah/Hasidism and the negative theology of Maimonides rabbi Michaelson translates this mystical notion of “God” into an understanding that we can all accept by the most rigorously logical point of view on the matter.

Excellent
This book was an excellent read and gave me a different perspective on things. I helped me through a terrible time in my life. It wasn't confusing and very detailed. Thank you for writing this book. Because it just so happen I stumbled upon it when I needed the most.

A New Type of Judaism
Everything is God is a book with a great deal of heart. The reader can easily tell that Jay Michaelson is a very sincere thinker on Jewish matters and in the wider world of spirituality. Michaelson uses a wide range of tools, from Hindu and Buddhist sources to Chabad Jewish sources. The reader gets the impression that Michaelson is more comfortable in many worlds. This is a grounded and beautiful work. Michaelson presents a picture of God, spirituality, and Jewishness that is appealing, productive, and humane. His version of Judaism would appeal to a great many people, and revitalize the religion!

A very interesting approach
I have not finished reading this book. The approach is radical and requires concentration and repeated readings, at least in my case. The book was suggested by my Rabbi after I mentioned another book, not yet published, on Shamanism - a book that I found most interesting. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is searching for God and who is not satisfied with the usual approaches provided by most organized religions.

An invaluable contribution
Nonduality is a concept usually associated with Eastern contemplative traditions. Here Michaelson illuminates how Kabbalistic descriptions of reality embody the same impressions of unitive consciousness. His knowledge of diverse practices, genuine insights and lucid writing style make this a key addition to the study of "advaita" as we'll as Kabbala. This is one of the best sources I've ever encountered from any tradition on the subject of ultimate reality, consciousness and the ground of being.

Excellent book: very thought provoking and written in poetic style
This book is dense, deep, and thoughtful. It confronts many of the challenges that intelligent, well educated people have with the belief in G-d. It is also highly personal and shares the authors personal struggles with faith and how he resolves them. Not an easy read, but worth the effort. Tell your Rabbi to read it too!

A true companion
I love this book and keep it close by. While watching TV I pick it up during commercials just to remain reminded that God is Everything. Thank you so much.

As a philosopher and wisdom teacher myself, I tend ...
As a philosopher and wisdom teacher myself, I tend to read source texts rather than this kind of summary. However Jay's book is so well researched and well written that it is a goldmine for anyone who is curious about jewish approaches to mysticism, which can be a bit exotic and inaccessible and how they relate to Eastern forms of non-dual mysticism. A treasure trove that I dip into regularly.
