Self Closing Faucet Spring

I wish I had known more about self-closing faucets before I purchased my Bev Rite Beer Faucet 4-Inch Shank Kit. I realized I wanted/needed a self-closing faucet after accidentally losing half a pint of a nice homebrew. For the faucets I purchased, there wasn’t a retrofit, but I found these. From the attached pictures, you can see that I cut the small end of the spring down to 1 1/8 inch. I found this to fit my standard faucets (i.e not Intertap) by trial and error. It took a pair of snips and a hammer to trim the spring, but I now have functioning self tapping faucets!For installation, I inserted the trimmed spring in between the faucet and the shank, resting the small end of the spring against the faucet seal, and the large end within the bowl of the shank.

Works as expected with Intertap faucet, even with a non-Intertap shank.

The springs installed easily in both intertap faucets I have. One spring seems to return the tap to it's sealed position (that tap is only filled with sanitizer for the time being) but the other tap with beer does not return as advertised.I still consider this worth the purchase as it would help return the tap from an accidental bump, but not from a full tilt.

I’ve never had a problem with not closing the tap, but some of my buddies not as familiar pulling draft beer have had an issue or two. Now no more worries.

Works great with faucet it was attended for. Right length. Not sure why other reviewer couldn't get it to work without cutting it? Shuts of perfectly.

Seller did a great job refunding and what not, so 5 stars to them, however, the product is too long and stiff to work. You would probably have to modify it to get it to fit right, perhaps cut it in half.A bit pricey for having to cut it yourself.

Seriously if you want a self closing tap these are perfect. No leaking once closed. The only problem is when filling a growler you have to hold it but that beats a leaking tap.

Bought these to hopefully make my Perlick 630SS faucets close automatically - worked like a champ! No modifications to the spring were necessary.
