This is a great product. The instructions to program it are easy to follow. I use it to turn on and off my Christmas lights during the holiday season. The case is perfect to protect the electrical connections from rain. I typically place it outside during the holiday season and it been through a few rain storms.

*** update to my previous review: changing from 1 to 5 stars. After I charged (left plugged in) for 24 hours, instead of the 3 hours listed in the directions, it magically started working properly. The timer now turns on and off at the programmed times. I found it originally a little difficult to switch from manual to auto mode but with some ingenuity I got it to the Auto mode. It now works perfectly and I highly recommend.**The item was shipped and delivered fast and seemed to be just what I wanted. Unfortunately two months later I am trying to use it (I purchased in August on sale specifically to use in late November for holiday decorations) and the timer function just doesn’t work no matter what trouble shooting I try. I followed the instructions carefully and everything is set up perfectly and it should automatically turn the lights on at 4:00pm then off at 11:58 pm. But the timer function will not work. So what I’m left with is an expensive regular extension cord. The return window closes one month after purchase. My bad for not programming and trying it out right away.

Let's just acknowledge the elephant in the room. The device is almost 100 percent plastic. So you do need to take care when pressing it into the ground. You could break the spike and leg. You may want to use 90 degree cords for the device. A std. 16 gauge extension cord almost keeps the front door from shutting. Timer works as advertised. It is simple, no programming (yea!!!) and you set the time, adjust the pins for when you want it your lights to come on and viola! it works. No complex digital machinations like digital programs require.

So far I have bought three of these for various reasons. I use two with high end glow lights and one set all year around in my wife's garden. In each case the units do exactly as needed and have stood up to being moved around and have stood up against storms from all seasons. The only quark is the latch. Its very very tight. Because of this if you read other reviews many people have said it wont close. In reality it can, but because it closes with very little wiggle room anything that might get in the way makes it hard. I learned to make sure not to over stuff the box. Placing the cords to line up properly with the lower sliding slats to ensure its not getting in the way. Using ties to help compact the wires helps as well. After that I just make sure she snaps. Once done its good to go.

Must say that this is a durable product and easy to use. Set up was a breeze, as well as following the instructions that were included for a different timing modes. So far, I haven’t had any issues with it being in the elements, but will update should anything happens. Overall, it’s functional and a good value for the money.

I purchased the unit for my water fountain so that the fountain turns on and runs for selected hours. The product has multiple outlets so that you can use it for additional needs. It works great, no issues.Some time after the timer stopped working. I contacted CS and they sent a replacement without asking much questions. Great service !

Excellent outdoor timer. I bought 2. (for front yard & backyard fountain). Timer was easy to set. They work GREAT! Best of all it has 6 sockets in the power box that are enclosed, which keeps the plugs dry from rainy weather or sprinkler systems. The extra plugs come in handy when installing my Christmas lights. I don't have to worry about extension cords all over my yard. I also use the convenient extra plugs when I'm using my power blower or power tools. I would buy this product again and I give this a 10 out of 10 rating.

The timer receptacle on a stick, or to be more accurate, a stake works really well.So, I like the fact that it has a low-tech mechanical timer. As long as you don't have any power interruptions at the power source for this device, you can set and forget it. The push down pins for setting the time on time off is well designed and user friendly. The "preciseness" of the time setting it not the best, but for my needs not too important. I would say + or - 10 minutes. The spring-loaded user cable capture feature is a very nice innovation to help prevent moisture from getting into the electrical receptacles section. I only used three of the six grounded receptacles in this unit, And I can tell you closing the unit and clasping it shut was a challenge due to the bending radius of the plug-cord of a standard extension cord. I was using 16 AWG 3 conductor. I didn't trust the plastic closure clip on this unit to keep it closed so I bought a stainless steel 1/4" X 20" X 1" bolt and nut and used the provided tabs on this unit to close it securely. I would rate this unit 4 stars for a "short-term use", holiday lighting, etc. I would plan your location outdoors prior to use. avoid the obvious issues like direct rain, water "ponding: around the unit, making sure you have good drainage around it. And as a safety caution if you are using this outdoors or in any wet or damp location, a ground fault circuit interrupter must be used. or as the National Electrical Code states, "Shall Be Used". So, pre plan your wiring, know your ampacity load. and have fun. ;)
