Captures Perfectly the Feeling of Hartnell's Era, a Fantastic Beginning
Absolutely Perfect! Best possible resource for beginning a Doctor Who Adventures in Time and Space or seeing the early episodes of class Doctor Who from a new perspective. Gives profiles of the First Doctor, Susan, and all First Doctor Companions. Provides episode-by-episode in-depth storyline breakdowns allowing you to recreate the episode, including pertinent character profiles, new traits, and new items. Notes on continuity help you see how the show developed over time. Most interesting, every episode breakdown details at least three story thread ideas - seeds for evolving adventures continuing, preceding, or expanding on the story and/or themes of the episode. The book is presented in glorious full-gloss black & white, reminiscent of the presentation of the original episodes.Production quality is high.Writing is well-researched. Top-notch.Cublicle 7 has gone out of their way to provide high-quality material. These books have been available in the UK for awhile but have been hard to come by here in the states. Thank you, Amazon, for making these available to us.My children and I have thoroughly enjoyed these resources, and created incredibly rich worlds to play in. I'd also encourage enthusiasts to search out Siskoid's expanded universe sourcebook companions developed in cooperation with Cublicle 7. Currently contributors have helped realize the first two Doctors. They don't in any way replace the original sourcebooks but they do fill in the blanks with material from the Big Finish audio dramas, the novels and novellas, and official notes from Doctor Who creative teams. It really is rather fabulous.Doctor Who is the perfect palette to play with. Not as rigid as other systems. Not for rules lawyers. A game created for storytellers and genuine explorers.Incredibly well-done, and worthy accolade.

Where it all started.
The beginning of the Doctor; how could you not like it. The summaries of the episodes is again excellent and the pictures make up for the lost episodes of this doctor.

Very detailed
I was very impressed with the level of detail contained in this sourcebook. I'm looking forward to the remaining guides to the rest of the Doctors.

If you could touch the alien sand... would that satisfy you?
This is a fantastic first entry in what promises to be an invaluable resource for roleplaying gamers specifically, but Doctor Who fans more generally. If you've ever wanted to insert yourself into an adventure with the good Doctor, then Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space is the means. If you long to "hear the cries of strange birds, and watch them wheel in another sky" with Hartnell's First Doctor, this sourcebook is for you. Well written, illustrated with stills from the series, and carefully edited: this volume is a gem.

If you love Doctor Who you will love this book
The book acts as both a very complete program / story guide and idea of generator for the game. It uses the story lines of the episodes to prompt you to think about where you might go next with your own game. The book also points out some oddities in the episodes (such as why did the first Doctor need a mailing address?). It leaves it to you to make up the story behind such ideas. A book that makes you think, what an odd concept.
