Does the job
I bought this because the world has gone crazy and I'm in the process of making my own home more secure. That means an array of ip cameras and a lot of network cable pulling! I drilled a hole in the wall and began feeding cable through that hole and quickly realized the hole just isn't big enough. Since I want to avoid crowding in the hole, I started to look for solutions and ran ran across this guy. I needed a solution that would power two PoE IP cameras using one cable without a plug nearby and this fit the bill. Since its for outside use, I paired it with this itemhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075DHRJHZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1and a bit of silicone to ensure water tight and all has been well (note: its pretty tight with all cabling in the box - I would buy bigger if I could do over). It's been up for a couple months now and survived the elements thus far. We've had a few hot days here (80+ ) since the install and I'll post back here after winter for an update on how it went over the winter months but for now, 5 stars!Update 04/2022Still going strong powering two poe cameras after two winters and going on the 2nd summer in the lower Midwest. Would still highly recommend this product.Update 05/2023Set it and forget it. I have not touched this setup since installation. Works good in the weather proof box out in the elements. For reference, this year my area experienced a very cold few days, cold enough to freeze equipment on the warehouse floor at work making them inoperable. This guy kept trucking, no issues.

Allows two cameras at one location without pulling an additional line
I had a bullet camera mounted under the eve of my summer house and found a PTZ dome camera I wanted at that location, but I wanted to ensure I kept the existing, fixed view also. I found this POE switch and thought it must be too good to be true. I got a small (about 6"x6"x5") plastic mounting box to put under the eve, mounted both cameras on it, and mounted the POE switch inside. I was using a Netgear GS305EP to provide the POE feed to that location, and this combination is working great. The system has been working for four months (July to October in Maine) with no problems. Its night, but I captured a still to show the PTZ dome mounted to the bottom and the bullet mounted off to one side. This was a very easy solution and I really appreciate the ease of mounting the box (also made it easier to mount both cameras) rather than pulling a new POE data line.

Works for problem connection IP Cameras.
I have a Reolink 811a that kept dropping the network connection. I replaced the Reolink camera with another one and it worked fine. Reolink replaced the 811a and the new one had the same issue. Cable was NEW, solid copper about 150 feet. Reolink says the 811a should work fine up to 262 feet.Long story short.... Paid $19.00 to try a PoE Extender and the Reolink camera works fine with the Extender. Zero connection drops. So if you have a connection issue, I would suggest trying a PoE Extender. I already ordered a spare to use if I run into this issue again.NOTE: Reolink told me they would refund my money... Still waiting.

Horrible product
Worked for about 30 seconds then for no matter what would not work across 100 ft of cable but would work when plugs straight into the switch. Rerun new cable terminated same issue. Wasted a whole day because of this bad equipment please don't waste your time

Works
The problem I have is the cat 5 cable run is over 330 feet and I was losing signal. By using a booster, splitter and a power injector I was able to get a good signal at the end for wifi use. There are some pauses on Netflix every now and then and some websites take a bit to load but over working fine after three months.

Perfect to solve situations w/ 802.3af (like Reolink)
Purchased a Ubiquiti NanoSwitch to power a Reolink camera and Ubiquiti Access Point (AP) off of one single Ubiquiti PoE switch port. That doesn’t work: NanoSwitch only runs on (and provides) passive 24V PoE — while Reolink cameras only take active 802.3af PoE.This product does what one would think NanoSwitch does: it takes 802.3af (48V) in from a Ubiquiti PoE switch — one provides 802.3af compliant (48V) PoE output to two devices — all without any external power.I did have one problem: my Reolink camera won’t boot if it is plugged into Port 2. It only works if plugged into Port 1. I suspect this is because of the timing of how fast the AP gets its power, and how much power it draws on boot up. But whatever, it works perfectly, it’s cheap, it’s 802.3af compliant. A lifesaver.
