Colmans Mint Concentrate - Reborn!
I used to love Colmans Mint Concentrate. Easily one of the best mint “sauces” and I would literally eat it raw, but additionally, would make the best base for a more typical sauce. When it was discontinued approx 7/8 years ago, I was dismayed, to the point of contacting Colmans/Unilever to confirm if this was truly the case… sadly, it was. Since then, I’d tried to find a suitable replacement, going so far as looking up the recipe to replicate from scratch, but could just not get anything anywhere near the same… Fast forward to Dec 24 and after trying a reasonably tasty ASDA own brand mint sauce, I was reminded of the fabled Mint concentrate, and on off chance, looked on Amazon to see if maybe it had been relaunched… no dice. However, I did notice this product. Initially, I almost immediately dismissed it as “mint sauce” normally means the heavily sugared and “slimy” sauces that are standard, but I noticed the recipe was… the same as mint concentrate. I then perused the Q&A here and lo and behold, someone stated it is the same as old mint concentrate!! I was surprised and a little skeptical, but for the price, it was worth giving it a go. I am so glad I did. This is -exactly- the same as the old mint concentrate and I have been ecstatic at discovering this. Needless to say, the entire 2.25kg of it has been demolished in less than a month. This is the real deal, and easily one of the best mint “sauce” products available.

We rebuy every few months, it lasts a long time.
We rebuy this product every few months as my family loves mint sauce with their Sunday dinners or any meal with mash. We have a small glass jar which used to have mint sauce in it, we add vinegar and sugar to this so that it lasts longer and we can cater the taste to our liking. Very versatile and has saved us a lot of money. We used to buy small jars from the shops frequently and getting this has saved us more money than I could even try to calculate in the long run. We first got this as a joke present in 2016 and haven't bought a small jar since.

Great Product (of course) not properly packed by Amazon
As everyone knows, this is excellent mustard. No problem there. And the bulk price is a large saving over the cost of the piddling little tins sold by the supermarkets. Amazon does not protect these tins by wrapping them in boxes with padding. They just drop them in a brown paper bag! Other customers have received them with the tins squished, the lid off, and mustard powder all over the place. I have seen the pictures. The tins are nice, and it would be nice to keep them as a collector's item. My tin has a ding in it. Fortunately, the lid was still on. Amazon: Is anyone there?

The best bottled mint
As far as bottled mint sauce goes this is by far the best one and the one most like real mint sauce.vakue for money is amazing as the size of the tub is mahoosive!! I dilute it down using a bit of malt vinegar as it's really thick. All in all it's really good value and tastes really good too!

ARRIVED IN PERFECT CONDITION
Tin arrived well packed in a box with padding. Tin in perfect condition, lid securely taped on. "Use by" of about 18 months but this stuff lasts for years. For just putting mustard on a hot dog I use a jar, much easier. This will be for cooking, makes a variety of food more interesting. To my mind there is only one mustard, this is it and I don't why others bother to make it.

Il sapore, ovviamente, è molto più forte delle senapi commerciali, ma si piò addolcire con olio extravergine. Bella la scatola. Ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo. Divertente farsela in casa.

Yup - I love the stuff. Beware. I bought the 4.6-pound tin thinking I would have more than just 4-5 weeks to use it before it expires. I how ripped off do you think I feel? Expires Mar 14 (2014 I think as it has no year listed) and was delivered Feb10. Watch out!!!!! Because it's getting old do they just want to dump it off to any one who will buy it??? I am going to contact the seller and see what their response is. I love the product. I question the seller. BUYER BEWARE.******UPDATE***** 12/7/14 I am not one to just throw things out based on expiration date alone. I have now has the 4.6lb canister for almost nine months. I still use it. keep it sealed tightly in canister tin in refrigerator. Still make hot stuff. Even though exp date was March 2014 it is still ok in my opinion. What do the dates really mean. Freshness, right? Hot stuff like this? As long as it doesn't smell funny in the container or has an off taste I will continue to use it. I think the trick is this - keep it dry, keep it sealed, keep it cool and it will last a long time. But some ppl are particular about the expiration dates. SO I change my review from one star to 4 stars. Would have given 5 stars if expiration date was not so short.
