this is a very good digital frame
Once you are able to out-think the Chinamen, this is a very good digital frame. The first issue I had was when I put the camera card into it and it said "File not supported." I had .jpg pictures and .mvi videos on the card because the frame is supposed to show both pictures and videos. I was concerned that I did not have the right camera card (although I bought the one that Amazon recommended to go with it), so I copied the files to 2 different USB drives and tried that. Still no luck. Then I read through the other reviews and noticed a comment that it will only read .avi video. Of course, the accompanying literature and the manual (which I also downloaded) do not mention this fact. So, I deleted the video from the camera card and tried again. This time it did not tell me "file not supported," but it still wouldn't show the pictures. I tried turning it on and off, etc. Finally, I unplugged it and moved it to a more convenient location for me to work on it, and Voila, it showed the pictures. Maybe it had to be unplugged for a few minutes or maybe it just didn't like where we were originally sitting. Who knows. The next issue was that I had about 300 photos consisting of maybe 30 different events. So, I had 10 pictures of each event on the card and I wanted them to display randomly. I went on the card and renamed them (yes, all 300) using numbers that would show them in random order if they played numerically. Well, that didn't happen. It was showing 10 pictures in a row of one event, then 10 pictures in a row of the next event. Boring.I tried everything suggested in the materials to make them show randomly, but alas, nothing worked. Then I noticed that the photos were showing in order of date taken. I went back onto the camera card again and right clicked on a photo file and selected "properties." After a lot of drilling around, I learned that if I clicked on the "Details" tab, there is a "Date taken" field. Below that there is a link called "Remove Properties and Personal Information," which I clicked. Once in there, you can select the "remove the following properties from this file" option, and click the "Date taken" box and then click okay. This removes the "date taken" data from the picture file. Once I did that (yes, for all 300 picture files again), the digital frame finally showed the pictures in random order. They still do not play in the numerical order that I gave them in their names, but they play randomly now. What the basis is for the random selection I have no idea. The screen quality is great and the little remote works fine, although the picture of it in the manual does not match the actual remote. Even though I spent about 4 hours figuring this thing out, my boyfriend was thrilled with it and sits mesmerized by the random slide show of his life.

Good Value for Your Money
This is my fifth digital frame. The first three were pixstar frames which I love but require a network and people who are updating the photos. I also have a 12" Sony frame that also works well after many years of use. This frame is a gift for someone who lost everything in a fire and I happened to have access to a number of his family photos. Because I won't be sending him photos on a regular basis and don't know if he has wireless at his retirement home, this non-wireless frame was the better choice. I also like how easy it is to set up and I figured out all of the controls without reading the instructions (which are very clear). The smaller size is the best choice because I don't know how important these photos will be to the recipient (thus an 18" frame might be overkill). This size also fits well on a bed-side table. I think the frame is fine and doesn't look cheap at all. Photo quality is good assuming you are loading correctly sized, correctly formatted, good quality images on the frame. The one thing I would have liked the frame to include was a remote control. My father-in-law loved to stop his frame and talk about the pictures. You can't do that with this one.Warning - I deleted the photos that were on a flash drive and replaced them with the ones I wanted to display. After running through all of the new photos a couple of times, the old deleted ones started to display. I had to reformat the flash drive and replace the new photos to insure that the old ones were gone. Really good lesson.

Poor Operating System, Fraud and Confidentiality !!!
First off, Amazon only gives the reviewer a choice of 5 stars to choose from. If i could i would have picked a negative 5 Star instead of a 1 Star rating. We purchased this Photo Frame as a picture album gift for my grandfather who is 90 years of age and living 600 miles away.Poor Operating System:The POS doesn't allow users to download picture files from a USB flash-drive. SUNGALE, the manufacture instructions has steps to make such a download BUT it WILL NOT copy files from a Flash-drive to internal memory.FRAUD:I called SUNGALE's Tech support and spoke with Antonio, informed him of the issue that I couldn't download picture files to the memory of a Digital Photo Frame. He called me back in 30 mins, told me he tried to do the same thing and had the same results as i did. Told me he would talk to other Techs about a software patch to fix the problem, then call me back in 24 hours. I gave him my cell number and he called me back in 23 hours. Antonio told me he was sorry and that SUNGALE had no resolution to resolve the problem of transferring picture files from USB flashdrive to internal Memory of the photo-frame. That is FRAUD and nothing less when a manufacturer of a product claims the product will do something and then it doesn't or they can't fix it. FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD.Confidentiality:I gave SUNGALE my personal cell phone number to call me back. After giving them my number I received 7 calls on my phone from California phone numbers, when i answered the call, no person was on the other end. I never, repeat NEVER get anonymous calls on my cell phone and then after i give it to SUNGALE I get HARASSED with unwanted calls. SUNGALE broke customer confidentiality agreement by giving out my number to others or SUNGALE harassed me themselves. Either way SUNGALE can not be trusted with CONFIDENTIALITY. I will be reporting SUNGALE to the California BBB regarding the confidentiality of customer telephone numbers.

Deja a desear
