Around the Year with Emmet Fox: A Book of Daily Readings Paperback – April 28, 2009

This book is one that I refer to daily. It is a book of inspirational musings that will help you along your daily routine. The book helps you to reflect and check in with yourself. I really appreciate the fact that anyone can find nuggets of wisdom within this text no matter your religious or spiritual background. I would recommend this book to anyone. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

Helps me better understand how to find my place in life, to know Gods will in my life and how best to do it. Use it daily to put my best thought forward.

I have had this book for many years. During that time I have used it as a daily meditation, as it was written, and probably still should be. But instead, for quite a while now I find myself going to the end of the book where there are about 10 pages of "Prayers and Meditations", which are taken from other passages in the book. When times are especially challenging, when I am depressed and discouraged, this is where I go. Those pages never fail to give me a little boost and remind me that I am not alone.

If you are looking for a good, honest interpretation of the Bible....this book is it! I originally came across Emmet Fox from the rooms of recovery.....and have purchased several of his books and booklets. This one is one of my favorites. Short little daily readings to emphasize how to live and focus on God. I read for 1 - 2 minutes; and then meditate for 10 minutes....that's after I shower and do my morning routine....it helps to start the day off smiling. This and the "Golden Key to Happiness" are the best things to read. Once you make the "Golden Key" a regular part of your routine (i.e., not wasting the morning minutes worrying about the crap that lies ahead), this book will help you build the stairway to enlightenment.

I am an alcoholic with 23 years of sobriety. My entire sobriety I have been attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings to great effect. At seventeen years the weight of my secrets and lies of omission began to weigh upon me very heavily. I was beginning to feel the same guilt, shame, remorse, and emptiness I felt before sobering up. A loving friend gave me this book and nothing has been the same since. That was 8 years ago. This book helped me to discover that my prejudice against all things religious had kept me from finding the solution that AA had been offering me the whole time. Emmet Fox has a way of cutting away the useless "stuff" and allowing me to see life, Spirituality and God from a different perspective. I have since offered this book to another "lost" friend, and he to another. Today we are all great friends with a working knowledge of our Higher powers.

Great Daily read

This is a wonderful book! I love reading the daily readings! Unfortunately, when I opened the package that wasn’t damaged, the book was torn on the bottom. I bought this as a Christmas gift and wish it wasn’t damaged :( highly recommend the book though! Love emmet fox!

Around The Year With Emmet Fox is one of the most marvelous books I have ever read. Each day's reading is inspiring and designed to allow the reader to see that we are each and all children of God, totally loveable and forgiven for our sins through Christ. Each day's reading gives a clear picture of how we can recognize and utilize our God-given gifts to be the person God intended us to be. I cannot recommend this book more highly for the help it gives in understanding what a wonderful and joyous life God wants for each of us. Learning to accept God's love opens us to unlimited exchange of love and caring with our fellow man. What more can we ask! Moreover, it clearly directs us to ask what we will of God since He wants to do all He can for us. Believing the truth of "Ask and you shall receive" opens a whole new world for us. "Believe and Ye shall receive" is absolutely true!
