RAM Mounts Composite Double Socket Swivel & Ratchet Arm RAP-B-200-2U Compatible with RAM B Size 1" Ball Components

I am commenting on 3 products which, together, make up a suction cup mount for an iPhone 6 Plus or similarly sized device.-RAM 3.5" Suction Cup Mount - RAM-B-224-1U-RAM Double Socket Swivel Arm for 1-Inch Ball - RAP-B-200-2U-RAM Universal X-Grip IV Large Phone/Phablet Holder with 1-Inch Ball - RAM-HOL-UN10BUI am so satisfied with this purchase that I felt compelled to write a review. The fit, finish, ruggedness, ease of use and price all met or exceeded my expectations. And that's not easy to do! I'm the type of person who believes in "a place for everything, and everything in its place". This mount allows me to put my phone exactly where I want it while driving and it stays put - period. You should know a couple things if you plan to purchase:1. this mount is not stealthy - you will notice it, especially when you don't have your phone in it and also from other angles such as the passenger seat. I would advise trying different locations to minimize obstructing your view. This is not a problem, but it's something to consider. The advantages to the way this mount is made are the design and material. It won't break and it won't move around while driving.2. RAM makes an excellent product, but ultimately it's up to you the consumer to make sure you buy the right combination of parts to optimally fit your need. I owe thanks to another reviewer here on Amazon to tipping me off to the double socket swivel arm. I would have otherwise bought the 6" Long Arm (RAM-B-201U-C) but I wouldn't have been able to adjust the fit nearly as well as I can with the RAP-B-200-2U. Research RAM's options, understand where and how you want to use it and read other Amazon Reviews. If you do, I have no doubt you will be pleased.Thanks Amazon for getting it here exactly when you promised in perfect condition.

I got this arm to replace a short, single control arm, also from Ram.This arm is so much better. While the single control on the other arm made adjustments quicker, it was harder to handle with everything being loose at once.With separate controls, tweaking everything to the exact spots I want it is a breeze. It takes a little long to loosen and tighten three different controls, but the added flexibility (literally) makes up for it - and then some. I'm now able to put my devices exactly where I need them, rather than "sort of" there.My only minor complaint is that this unit isn't metal like my other arm. It's really, really heavy duty plastic, so it should hold up, but I would have preferred the uncompromising strength of metal.I very much doubt this unit will be any more prone to breakage, but these aren't inexpensive mounts. In fact, this was as much or more than the cost of my metal one. It's not so much that I feel like it's made poorly as it is I feel like I'm experiencing cost cutting.Having said that, I've had other devices (not Ram mounts) that used metal of poor quality that ended up shearing off due to being too brittle. So, sometimes plastic performs as well or better than cheap metal. Long term use will determine which is true for Ram. It certain seems well made, despite it's plastic form.The inserts for the control knobs are metal, though, so the parts most likely to break are more durable. Assuming you don't totally abuse the arm, the clamps that go over the ball connections should hold up well enough due to their robust thickness - even under rough use.The result is, unless the thing actually does break, I'm not prepared to subtract any stars. I'm more disappointed than concerned about it.

It is a great product. Definitely 5 stars for build quality. I purchased two other mounts before I went with Ram because I didn't want to spend that much on a Ram mount. Well guess what? Both of those mounts broke! I could have saved my money for the Ram and I wouldn't have been out the other $50 I spent on broken product.This thing is pretty much indestructible.A few things to remember:1. This is just a piece that you need. You'll need the other pieces to actually have a mount.2. This is going to add vibration to your phone. Period. It is going to vibrate more with this longer heavier attachment.3. This does not "rotate any way you want it." I know that it looks like it does - but it is hard to explain. It is very functional and you can get your phone in just about any position - but it is not completely, "move it however you want."If I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now - I would still purchase this accessory for my Ram Mount.Oh - and PS- I am not one of those people that get compensated to give 5 star reviews for free product. I wish I knew how to break into that game. Alas - I had to pay full price for mine.

This is an adjustable swivel for a 1 inch mount.It built of sturdy composite material.It allows you to mount a GPS, CEL phone, or other similar item to a hard surface like a truck or UTV dash board.It has 5 different adjusting swivels so you can properly see your device.It will require a 1 inch ball mount where you mount it and and a 1 inch ball mount on your device,I use this for my GPS in my UTV.I've been using it for over two years with no issues.I would recommend it.
