Chimney 81196 Kwik-shot Soot Stopper-36 Sticks Per Case

The Kwik-shot soot stopper has worked for several years for us. We have a 22' stainless, double-wall chimney and, while we try to burn only seasoned wood, occasionally we hit a run of less-than-perfect wood. The use of this product has eliminated the rental of a lift platform to access the top of the chimney and we have been able to avoid hiring a chimney sweep. We constantly monitor the pipe for any build-up and a quick treatment with the Kwik-shot cures any issues. The only itty-bitty item is that after a cleaning, flecks of ejected soot are evident on the snow on the lawn. That's not a problem, just evidence that the product has worked. Good stuff!

After a major chimney fire we started using these sticks in our new wood stove insert and chimney liner. We've gotten a clean bill of health from our chimney cleaner/inspector ever since. We use a stick about every 10 fires. The wood heat is our major heat source so we have fires going every day.

The product is simple to use and effective. But, the box always arrives with at least two sticks broken and spilled inside box. Delivery is by USPS which means that the package is left out in the rain. I always prefer Amazon or UPS.

Have tried other brands and approaches. The Big Sticks work best according to our chimney sweep.

These seem to work and were suggested by my chimney system installer; however, the shipping is not a good set up. I've had two boxes shipped with 30%+ broken in each box, so between the two I can get a full box. So product good, but count on needing to reach out to the seller for replacement.

Can't be too safe when it comes to wood fires. I keep these on hand and regularly just throw one into a well established fire. Seems to keep my chimney clean.

I’ve used this in the past and have had a positive response from my professional chimney sweep. The most recent pack I purchase did not produce the colorful flames as they have in the past but that’s not a big deal to me. Before I starting using these I would get creosote buildup so I will continue to use them
