Good Value for a High-End Cooler
I bought this cooler to use with my Bote Drift inflatable paddleboard. Bote promotes the Yeti Tundra 35 which seems to run around 299 everywhere you check. I got the ENG25, which is about the same size as the Yeti Tundra 35 for 189 on Amazon. I'll start by saying that I've never used a Yeti so I really can't compare, but here's where I come out on the Engel. First, it is very sturdy and beefy. This was an issue for me as I am sitting and standing on it when it is strapped on my paddleboard. Second, it holds ice for a long time. I originally didn't think this would be a big deal for me as I usually only go paddleboarding for the day. But I've found that I can keep the ice in it over the weekend for multiple different outings and that is a nice feature. I don't know how it stacks up to the competition, but it lasts longer than the cheaper coolers I have bought. Third, and this is the only negative, the latches are not as sturdy as I thought they would be. I thought the buckles were rubber coated steel and would create some real pressure on the lid when closed. But they are just rubber with steel ends and are very flexible. So it doesn't really hold the lid down that tight. I can't tell if that is an intentional design -- maybe Engel does it to allow pressure in the cooler from being relieved, but the end result is not a "locking" feel. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. Yeti may have better brand recognition but I saved over 100 bucks.

As Advertised. Great Road Trip Cooler Engel 25>Yeti Roadie 24
This thing was impressive.Just did a my first road trip from LA to Anza Borrego in an open top Jeep. Put 20lbs of ice in an empty cooler Thursday morning. Started adding already-chilled beer from breweries later that afternoon. We had some luck with cool/cold nighttime temps and the cooler got a bunch of shade in the backseat, but it was in the 80s some of the weekend. It's Monday afternoon now, and even after leaving it in the car overnight, it still has ice and the drinks are still frosty cold.Love that it has a drain. Chose this one over the Yeti Roadie 24 and really happy.

Good small cooler.
Got the small size because it had to fit in a couple spaces that normally held an old (at the time broken) Coleman 28, and it was a combo/footrest for rear kiddie passengers. I bought the Engel 25 and the updated RTIC 20. The interior spaces are similar except the layout; while Engel went wide, RTIC went deep (tall), so it could cold tall bottles if we wanted to. However, we put food in the RTIC and drinks in the Engel for a short camping fishing trip. It was a mistake - it should have been the other way around. Pre-chilling is important but access is just easier with the Engel because of: (1) latches which can be manipulated with one hand; and (2) the interior layout of the Engel. Also, while the top of the RTIC lid was smooth, the Engel was rough and grippy for standing on. If my old steel-belted Coleman 54 ever conks out (doubtful), I'm probably going to replace it with a bigger Engel.

Not Impressed!
I bought this cooler to carry items in the back of my jeep on rough trips and around town. I wanted to bee able to tie it down and still get into it without removing the tie down straps. I also wanted a sturdy long lasting cooler so I wouldnn't need to replace it or parts on a regular basis. Finally, I wanted a "premium" cooler that would keep ice longer than typical store offerings. I searched and researched and was about to buy a YETI when I discovered this ENGEL. It is designed almost the same as a YETI. Functionally, it accomplishes everything that drew me to look at the YETI. One difference that mattered was size. This cooler is a bit smaller and more convenient for my jeep. I liked that. This cooler was a bit less expensive. I liked that. This cooler was reported to have 2" insulation all around while the YETTI was reported to have less in the bottom. I liked that. I Bought this cooler thinking I was getting a cooler that would keep ice longer and cost less - Real Value. Well, it did cost less at $200 than the YETI. Unfortunately, it doesn't keep ice very well. I mean it does OK but nothing spectacular at all. I get about 3-4 days total cooling with days 2-4 hhaving a lot of water. Further the seal leaks water when I make turns that slosh the ice/water. I end up with water all over the back of my Jeep. I even wonder if that poor seal has something to do with not holding ice that well. I don't know that the YETI would be any better but, I am not pleased with this large outlay of cash. I don't mind spending money if I get what I'm paying for. In fact, I beleive that spending more often results in True Value. I would not recommend this to a friend or anyone else. In my opinion, it is NOT Worth the Money - Poor Value. By the way, the YETI is made in the USA. This cooler was imported from Thailand.

Best. Ever. Cooler.
This is by far the best heatproof bearproof cooler in the market. No more melted ice - say hello to beer slushees instead. When my man said he needed a cooler to last all day on the job site- he got it. And then some. It lasts all week - he runs out of drinks and food instead of ice now. Nothing tastes better at the end of a work day than an ice cold tea that’s been in the hot sun all day.

I like it a lot
I sit it on the front seat of the suv for long drives and as an assist to my Engel 35 or 36 quart large one for camping. I stuck a ten pound bag of seven eleven ice in it three days ago and left it in my heated garage and so far the bag is still half full of ice and some water in the bottom. Not bad for a small cooler with nothing at all loaded into it. These are expensive but it seems to me that they sufficiently prolongue the value of the ice. Small ones like this aren't going to last a week but if I had loaded it with cool drinks or materials and then put the ice in I think it would easily keep them cool for several days. Good enough. Why not five stars? Simple: they, of necessity I suppose, are heavy for their size. Would be true of yeti, grizzly or engel I believe.

Excellent Product, But Misleading Sizing
The standout feature is the latch which allows for easy open and close, unlike the Yeti's or similar products. My gripe is that this is not a 25 liter cooler even though it read ENG25. In fact, it is 21 liter according to the specs on the official website. So the value when compared to the YETI 20 liter evaporated.
