I do not write many reviews but thought I would join the chorus of folks that like this futon. I thought the fasteners were of very good quality and the joinery is well designed and executed. The assembly is actually kind of fun, not particularly difficult, but my recommendation is to have two people and build in a large space. I built this in the ultimate destination which was cramped. My one issue is the queen size requires two extra legs on the back rack so that when the futon is in the down position, those legs can be used as extra support. However, no fasteners were supplied for this purpose. I won't lower my stars because a quick trip to the hardware store was all that was needed. But the manufacturer should check on that. I had some nice hex tools that made the assembly a bit easier, but their supplied wrench will indeed do the job. The mattress seems very nice. It is definitely on the firm side, but I think that is good all things considered. I agree with others that the mattress will probably wear and will be a bugger to switch out. To solve that problem, I covered the mattress while in the up position with a nice throw. A lot easier to get a new throw than to try and unzip the cover. In summary, a really nice product and kind of fun to build. But get a buddy to help you!

I was on the market for a new couch and had a very specific list of qualities I wanted:1) Wood frame (we have cats who destroyed the upholstery on our old couches…scratches on wood can be repaired much more easily).2) Sturdy enough to hold my weight, the mattress, and one or two dogs (a combined weight of about 450 lbs).3) Firm enough the cushions wouldn’t wear under all that weight, but soft enough to be comfortable to nap on.4) Drawers/storage, so the fur children couldn’t tear it up from underneath.5) Larger than our two-seater love seat but smaller than the three-seater sofa.6) Replaceable cushions, so in a few years if they start to wear, they can either be re-stuffed or replaced without having to buy an entire new unit.I searched for WEEKS trying to find the perfect match, and this futon exceeds expectations.I put it together mostly by myself in about 2.5 hours, only needing a second person to attach the back and seat decks to the frame.The cushion seemed too firm at first, but softened up quickly without sacrificing its sturdiness.The mattress arrived first, then the frame in 3 separate boxes a few days later. I ordered this on 10/4 and had all parts delivered and assembled by 10/9 - a full week sooner than the expected delivery date. I believe the mattress is sent first intentionally, so it has at least a day or two to fluff up, after you unwrap the packaging.The seller was incredibly accommodating - I messaged asking for the tracking numbers for each package (in case they would arrive on different days, so we could ensure someone would be home). They responded in about 2 hours, even labeling which tracking number went with each part.

The completed futon is heavy and large. Ensure you have the room when assembling. I had to turn the seat and back assembly 180 degrees because I installed it upside down. Don’t laugh it’s easy to do. Just make sure you have the room you need to put it together. And remember once you start putting it together it gets heavy and unwieldy fast.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this piece! It is everything I hoped for. BUY this one! I bought the Queen size. It is truly a very large, heavy and durable piece of furniture. The wood is solid. It came in 4 pieces which was great because it was going to an upstairs room and made life easier. I found nothing broken and no pieces or hardware missing.I received the mattress first. (Then a day later the other 3 boxes.) The mattress does have a slight odor, but after a day or so left flat, it was fine unless you put your nose to it. But that has also since dissipated. The mattress has a foam core with a thick poly cotton stuffing surrounding it. The mattress has a zippered cover, but there is no way to remove the cover for washing (which is why you would normally want to remove a cover) unless you want the stuffing all over the place. So I don't understand why there is even a zipper but it could be convenient if you wanted to add more stuffing, rearrange the stuffing or even replace the entire foam core and stuffing if needed. But you just know this mattress will hold up as I don't see it sagging or denting in the center (probably due to the stuffing "protecting" the foam core. But time will tell. We will rarely be using this futon as a bed. We are using it as seating for my husband's "Man Cave" and it gives us the seating capacity of a full size sofa! 3 adults could be comfortably seated. But I love that the option is there to turn it into a bed when needed. It fit all my needs. The mattress cover is of very good quality and seems quite durable. I bought the Twill Khaki and the color is great! I have also used a sofa cover easily found on Amazon to place over the futon because I have kitties who love it!I saw many reviews where people had problems assembling. My husband had a few questions with the directions, but it didn't take very long (maybe an hour and a half? - not including the drawers) for him to put it together with a little help from me to hold a piece in place here and there while he screwed it in and then again when we lifted the back end to place in the grooves on either side to attach it to the seating part. I would recommend another person be available for these reasons. I DO recommend reading and thinking through all the directions FIRST and familiarizing yourself with the pieces. Missing hardware for us was NOT an issue.I LOVE EVERYTHING about this futon. EACH side of the futon has a small table that can be extended and held in place by wood pieces that swing out underneath to hold the side tables up and out. Simple to use and put away! When used as a bed, there are also wood legs that you are able to pull down to give extra support on the edges. It is easy to re-position as a bed, but you may need help doing it and getting it back to its upright seating position due to the weight of the mattress, but I do not consider this a problem. I think the way I have it set up is in the lounging position and not the upright position, but I love it at this setting. Kind of like a reclining chair set back at a slight angle. VERY COMFORTABLE! Perfect for my use in this room. I have only tried it at the bed setting and this lounging setting. I have not "played" around with the upright setting. I didn't feel the need to try to maneuver it into the upright position since it is heavy. You may want to play around with the different seating options BEFORE you place the mattress onto the frame.Although I have not yet put the drawers together, it has been stated in the question/answers area that they do not need to be removed before using the futon as a bed. I LOVE the idea of drawers being available for this set. I could put a queen size sheet set in them or maybe use for the controls for a video game console!Th pillows shown ARE NOT included just for your information. This futon is solid, NOT cheaply made and hopefully over time the mattress will hold up! I recommend buying this set that includes the drawers and the mattress. I am SO HAPPY I spent the extra money to get these options. Since it is a really big piece of furniture, I highly recommend you measure your area before settling on either the full size or the queen size. All in all I LOVE THIS SET!

Absolutely loved this futon!! This is exactly what I was looking for! I was looking for something which turns into a queen bed, has drawer storage. This is also made of real solid wood! Looks amazing in the living room. I absolutely LOVE the blue mattress and I love the high back rest! It's very good for the back! The fabric feels really natural and it's very comfortable! Highly recommend this futon!

The mattress is a little fragile where the tufting is, but otherwise we give it 5 stars. Comfortable, assembly was straightforward, and good value for the money. We also love the look.
