No more nasty gasoline
Install is easy. I have to use the choke lever that came with this car orator for the original that came with my General GP5000 is a push and pull type and it would not fit with this new carburetor. It start right away with gasoline with out pain but it would not run right away with propane. You have to adjust the propane pressure, mine runs well with 1 psi. No more gasoline that will spoil. The original carburetor was damage by the gasoline that was left for a long time inside the gas tank. We never had long power outage. Now the LPG gas will stay good for a long time and will be always ready in case we have to use the generator This dual fuel is worth the price go get it for yourself.

Very surprised at how well it works
I didn't have to adjust anything, worked great on petrol gas and LP gas right out of the box. Very pleased, so glad I bought this!Just remember when using LP gas, don't use the choke on the carb, just push the black spring loaded button on the side for a couple seconds to prime the carb, and should start up with a couple pulls.Note, for LP, just use a normal low pressure LP regulator like what is on gas grills or space heaters. Looks like Amazon suggests to also purchase a 20psi adjustable LP regulator hose. Do not use that, it is too much pressure! Also note, if you want to replace the barbed LP gas input connector on this, you will need a 1/4 NPT tap and probably chop off the tip of the tap about 1/8" to 1/4" depending on the tap length because the threads on this connection is not 1/4 NPT, and it is very shallow. And be careful not to over tighten it and crack the aluminum tube.

DO NOT USE CHOKE with Lp or NG
First off as I stated in the title do not use the choke while using propane or natural gas. I was not aware of this and I kept pulling and pulling priming over and over and couldn’t get my generator started. I used starter fluid to get it started and thought well this isn’t going to work in a rainstorm or during inclimate weather with no power. BUT, I by chance tried it without the choke and primed it about a 3-5 second prime of LP. And it fired right up. I let it sit for a couple hours did the same thing NO choke, just a good 3-5 second prime of the Lp and it fired right up. After discussing this with my dad who has a generator that came with dual fuel capability. He said, it says in my manual not to use the choke while using Lp or NG. So hopefully this saves somebody else some headache. I have the Honeywell 6500 watt 389cc OHV generator and this was a direct bolt on. I removed the factory choke and carb which was simple and bolted this one on no modification required. It took me about 15-20 min to install. I have had my carb off before so I already knew the process but again it’s very easy to install. I have not run any gasoline through it so I can’t speak for the gasoline side of it but I don’t expect any issues. Just turn the knob to gasoline fill it up and go. Please note that using Lp or NG you will not produce the same sustained or peak wattage your generator is rated for this rating is based on using gasoline. This is true for all dual fuel generators. You will see the advertised wattage and in the manual they will note the Lp/NG wattage which will be less. Just google gasoline vs Lp generator wattage and you can get a good idea what you will have based on your generators wattage.

didn't work on my generator
The carborator looked to be well made.. unfortunately it did not work on my generator.. a ryobi 5500 watt..I connected the propane and could not get it to run at all. I wasn't goin yo return it but when I put petrol in to make sure it would run correctly the engine kept surging. So since I had to re install the original carb I decided to return it.. disjointed that it wouldn't work on my generator it was no hassle to return gor a refund.. thank you.

This thing works great!
I used this product on a craftsman 5000 watt generator. With a briggs and stratton 306 cc engine. It was almost bolt on. The opening on the engine side of the carberator and butterfly valve were slightly bigger than the old one , so when I lined up the new gasket and the plastic spacer between the engine and carburetor it looked like un carburated air from a passageway on it would leak into the intake. I used a small dab of the silicone like gasket material from the auto parts store to seal up the end of the opening so i would not have a vacuum leak. Everything else fit perfect. With the mid priced propane regulator from Amazon(the cheap one put out more pressure than the carberator was rated for) and the choke half way this thing started second pull. Turned the choke off and it ran perfectly. I ran my generator with a small window air conditioner plugged into it for about 15 min and burned a half pound of propane according to my bathroom scale. Great product works better than i thought it would!I drained the gas from the tank and hooked the fuel line to the carberator just to keep stuff out of it. I never plan to run gas through this thing. And the two wires i just wrapped up and zip tied them out of the way.

No gaskets with the carburetor.
Overall great price for the carb but it came without the 3 gaskets shown in the pictures for installation. I contacted the seller and was told they where unavailable and they offered 5.00 off the price. I could have made my own but the time to go buy gasket material and make them, not worth the effort so I'm returning it. I will give them 5 stars for customer response / reply.

Double the run time of your gasoline generator
I have a gasoline generator that I run when we havr power out and hurricanes ( South Texas ) The dual fuel carburator will run on a tank of propane for 26 hours. as opposed to 11 hours on 1 full tank of gasoline. If you connect to natural gas at a gas meter ( Check with your nathral gas provider ) will run indefinitely but that will be reflected in your bill. The carburator is "plug and play" ( it was for mine so check that the model number is compatible with your generator). It just replaces the existing gasoline carb by just unbolting and remove the idle and throttle connector rods and 1 spring. You wil need to purchase separately a propane of natural gas line to connect to the fuel source. I give this a 5 star rating.
