Easy to use and Economical
This pH tester is easy to use and easy on the wallet. The calibration is easy and the tester comes with a screw-driver to do the calibration. It also comes with a packet of calibration fluid.I was initially drawn to this version of the tester because it has a hard plastic case. In retrospect, it's a silly feature. As with most (maybe all?) pH testers, you have to keep the sensor wet. So there's no way to store the tester in the hard case and keep it wet.Overall, this was a good purchase and it seems to work well. It's only annoying to have to store it in a cup of water or calibration solution.

it works
Remember to calibrate at the proper temperature, if calibrated to a different temp the reading will be inaccurate. Also it seems to need to be re-calibrated every week... I keep it stored in pH solution and it still needs re-calibration. This device works as good or better than the Hanna pH pen I own.

Great - understand how they work first.
If you have a unit that won't calibrate or that loses calibration after being stored correctly, total bummer. I've had two of these and the first one worked great for several years. After I had goofed up with it and it had dried up about a dozen times I replaced it (calibration wasn't sticking it seemed like). New one has been flawless since purchase and I'm now very conscious of proper storage.Do it, get a bottle of calib/storage solution to have around.. expect consistency.

Overall works well, but calibration needs to be done often
I really like this PH meter, but...Calibrating it for the first time is time consuming because you need to search for a video on how to do it correctly. And then you need to store it wet and not let it dry out. Plus, for accuracy you are supposed to calibrate just before every use! This one is to be calibrated with the 7.01 solution only (not the other pH sout ions they sell). The packets are one time use. So had to buy a bottle of solution to keep my readings accurate. Overall,it does a great job and easy to read. Just issues with some of the calibration stuff and how often you are really sup posed to calibrate.

Buy two, and you still have money to spend on something else, compared to the 100$ meters. ( not waterproof!)
do not expect a 100$ meter.but if you are looking for a work horse that will get the job done and not break the bank. look no further.I would recommend you buy two as I maybe get 6 months out of this meter, not because the meter dies but because I drop it in the water and it is not waterproof. (but since I only usally get 6-12 months from the 100$ meter, totally worth it.)Has it's draw backs and could be improved for sure but for what you pay and how accurate it is, it's the only meter I buy anymore, and I've owned them all.

Meh
Seems to work okay, and for a cheap price. That's the good part. The bad:The sensor/tip is not replaceable. Once you've used it, you're not supposed to let it dry out. You're supposed to store it in a neutral solution. But the body isn't waterproof. How are you supposed to do that? It comes in a little plastic case that is completely useless once you've used it.It should come in an upright case that would let you store it in the solution. It doesn't. I put mine into a water bottle to try to store it. That worked okay until it got knocked over on the shelf a couple of times, and the body got wet. Predictably, the innards got corroded and it stopped working quickly. That was my fault for tipping over the bottle.I'm not sure how accurate or consistent it is. I didn't really get to use it enough to be sure. It seemed to work okay. Maybe as accurate as pH test strips are. But not scientific grade accurate.
