Decent. Middle fails first.
After about 3-4 years, the rubber in the middle starts to tear and the bamboo bristles fall out.

Almost as good as a Widu, but much much cheaper!
I have a very sensitive scalp, and have used nothing but wooden brushes since my late teens. I have two Widu brushes that I LOVE, but after many many years (and lots of abuse from my two children), they are starting to show signs of age. But the cost of replacing them is just prohibitive right now... I tried a couple other wooden brushes that REALLY pulled and seemed SO much harsher than what I was used to. This brush pulls my fine straight hair just a LITTLE bit more than my old brush, and seems just a LITTLE bit harsher on the scalp, but it's definitely very very close to what I'm used to! My son, who has long, thick, wavy hair (I'm so jealous!), says this brush pulls LESS than the Widu, so if you have thick wavy hair you may even like this better. If you've tried inferior wooden brushes in the past and can't see what the fuss is about, or if you've gotten used to expensive wooden brushes and would like a cheaper alternative, this is definitely one to try!

Used for decoration but impressed with usability
My son's room is themed 'Goodnight Moon' (childrens' book). I bought this along with a wooden comb to use as the comb and brush in the book. But I was very impressed with how well made and usable this brush was. I have to entertain my son while changing him or he flips right over and starts to crawl away so this brush was put into action as a 'watch mommy! mommy's brushing her hair!' toy, chew toy, and waving instrument. He enjoys it and I'm happy no small pieces are loose or coming off. It is very massaging to the scalp but my thick hair isn't brushed well by the widely spaced tines.

Good wooden brush, less static and green
I was initially looking for a wooden brush in order to phase out as many plastic items in my life as possible. Low and behold, a wooden brush also cuts on the static and frizz while brushing! An extra bonus to a plastic free item. I'm very happy with the item and would like to find a smaller version to carry in my purse.FYI: Unfortunately, it is made in China (which would not be a problem to me if there were better worker conditions as a whole for the Chinese people!).

it works fine, and Im hoping that it softens with time
Not as soft as my previous brush, and one of the bristles was missing when it arrived. I still give it 4 stars since its one of the cheapest out there. If I wanted a top of the line brush, I would have had to spend top of the line money. For what it is, it works fine, and Im hoping that it softens with time. Even if it doesn't to get a brush of this design for $10 is a bargain.

it is what it is
I purchased this item at full price on a whim after watching some ASMR videos with hairbrushing. I loooovveee having my hair brushed so it seemed like it would be a nice relaxing thing. Unfortunately this brush snagged and pulled on my hair quite a bit. In fairness I tend to have wavy sort of unruly hair so finding a brush that does NOT snag would be a miracle in itself but overall this brush is just okay, not the holy grail of massaging hair brushes imo.

excellent for the price
While it is not quite at the same level of a Widu, the Earthline wooden hairbrush is also about $30 cheaper, which makes it a clear winner for the hirsute consumer on a budget (ha). I purchased both the Earthline and the Bass, and I would rate the Earthline slightly better for dealing with tangly, long hair.

Love this brush
I have been using this brush for years. I like that it makes my hair smooth and doesn't pull my hair out!
