Mortier's Ceylon Orange Pekoe 2020 Great Taste Award - PremiumTea 100g

This is a light, refreshing, fragrant tea from the mountains of Uva Province in Sri Lanka. Known as a 'high grown' tea, its subtlety and complexity mean it is ideally enjoyed as a 'plain tea'. Ideally infused for 3-5 minutes at 95C and without any need for milk. It is a beautiful golden colour and lacks any bitterness whatsoever, or trace of tannins. In fact, the quality is so good that it reminds me (from its floral aroma and complexity), of a high-grade white tea. Excellent quality as well as ethically sourced, this tea is highly recommended.

The tea itself is very good but 2 of the 3 tins delivered (3 separate orders) were badly dented. That may be because they were packed in brown paper bags. It’s a shame as the tins are quite nice.

Orange Pekoe is my favourite Black Tea and this brand did not disappoint

I love this tea. Fantastic flavour from large tea leaves - no te dust here. Great ethos too - and all packaged in a nice tin.

Comes in a tin, I think it would be better in a sealable packet. Quite big leaves when brewed and a fairly robust flavour. Refreshing but not outstanding.

Not as good as T2 Broad leaf orange pekoe

Orange Pekoe tend to be expensive and not always great tasting. This one has pleasant flavour, is reasonably priced and comes with a pretty tin.
