If you can’t use Botox…
Is it as good as Botox? No! But for my 11’s it works. I recently developed terrible “dry eyes” and stopped using Botox on my 11’s bc it reduces the blinking which worsened my dry eyes. (I’d wake up with Red eyes, not clear ones). This has saved me from waking up to heavy duty 11”s imprinted on my forehead. At night after I apply all my skin care, I blot my 11’s to remove any access skin care, and slightly wet a Frownie triangle and then glue it on firmly. It stays on all night (if I don’t add too much or too little water). And in the morning I have no 11s.! When I don’t do it I have the 11’s indentations. Yes it does have a glue type of smell, but I don’t care because it takes care of my wrinkles. I’ve read that some people use it during the day to retrain the forehead muscles not to frown so they don’t get those wrinkles. I may try that next. I have noticed that when I put it on earlier in the night and I watch TV I don’t move my forehead as much when they’re on because it constricts that area. Do I think they’re worth the money? Well yes if I don’t have to pay for my Botox anymore. But obviously , it’s not as easy as going to get the shots every three months. And it is a commitment so you just have to make it easy for yourself and have them right there next to your skin care. All in all, I definitely think they’re worth it. And if you’re using Botox and want to save money, I would use the Frownies in between sessions. I remember Rene Russo once said she owed her youthful looks to Frownies.

It works! Consistency is KEY!
I tried Frownies as a more natural approach to the lines i started noticing forming on my forehead and between my brows. I tend to have a RBF lol and tense my face muscles when I sleep. Im 33 and my lines weren't super deep, but definitely getting more noticeable. These are a great natural alternative to botox. OK, so lots of reviews say it smells bad, so much so that its unbearable. If you put it right up to your nose, its not a pleasant smell, but who does that? But still not unbearable by any means. I cant smell it when its on my face. Its obviously sort of annoying to have to put these on your face every night, but im pretty consistent and because the results are insanely good, I dont mind. Its like a cast on your forehead, and it dries super quick. Keeps everything in place, flattens out the lines and keeps your face from scrunching. I see results as soon as I take them off in the morning and my forehead is super smooth. So satisfying! Now granted, the results are not permanent the first few days/weeks (depending on the person). Ive been doing this probably for 5 months now and I've missed a few nights here and there, but for the most part im consistent. The first few days/weeks id take them off in the morning and was discouraged to find the lines come back by the time I was done with my morning coffee. But as time went on the gap between when the lines would return got longer. Im more relaxed in my muscles and the lines do not return for the whole day. Now they would return if I skipped a day or so, so I try not to do that. Im hopefully going to get to the point where i only need to do it a few times a week, but i havent tested that out yet. Also, my lines werent super deep, so I know for others it might take longer for lasting results. So ill say again, consistency! If you are ok with committing to putting these on every night, then go for it! Also I've seen reviews complain about them hurting to remove. Just put some water on your finger tips, wet underneath the frownie edge and push your finger under the frownie so the water can soften the sticky part. It will come up with minimal pull. I also just use plain warm water to stick them on my face, I did not buy the rose water. Works fine. I cut to size ones for the sides of my mouth usually too, cause I am a side sleeper and they help tremendously with keeping that area flattened. Anyway, good option for keeping my lines smooth for right now, and it feels great to look fresher😊 sorry I didnt think to take a before picture when I started, but I have this after of my forehead a few hours after taking frownies off in the natural light now. No makeup obviously (hadn't put my eyebrows on for the day lol), just my tallow moisturizer.

You NEED these in your skin care routine
I was a skeptic for sure when I tried these and I gave them about a week, and I saw what I felt was a minor improvement in combination with retinol moisturizer daily. I thought that it probably had more to do with the retinol that I was using than anything else, so I decided to skip a night of using them and thought maybe I could just get away with doing them a couple times a week or every other day. I quickly saw the difference between One single night of not using these magical stickers. Attached to this review is a photograph of the progress of using every single night before bed. It's the one that looks nice. This is how my forehead has been looking when I wake up and it stays looking like this throughout the entire day until I go to bed.. then you will see the photo that looks not so nice. That is the photo of the one morning I woke up after deciding not to use the frownies the night before.. dear God has there ever been such a dramatic before and after... I was quickly reminded of why I started using these in the first place and looked back at my progress pics. Wow. Not a subtle difference. These literally turned back the hands of time. Now, when I'm feeling a little lazy at night, I remember what I'm going to wake up to if I don't use them. So yes, definitely get these and don't worry, you will have no problem adopting them into your nightly routine Once you see how big of a difference they make. If I have a few critiques, one of them is the smell. I think the reason why they recommend you use rosewater is to try to cover up the stink. It kind of smells like wet dog, or stinky shoes. Not loving that smell at all. The other thing that I don't really love is it's kind of a science to get these to stick just right and not lift but yeah, even if for whatever reason they start popping up on me as I'm going to bed and moving my face a bit, I still wake up with a super smooth forehead anyway. They say you have to soak these off and I do not have to soak these off at all. I just slide my finger underneath very gently and they come right off in the morning. Soaking them off, actually makes them adhere to your head more i feel like. Actually, I recommend if you're having trouble sticking them to your head to dampen the outside of them and hold them until they stick. it kind of gives it a papier-mâché effect. Focus on training your muscles not to move in the ways that create the wrinkles in the first place and these things will be a miracle. I do wish they sold them in larger quantity pack because I feel like I'm gonna have to order these every three weeks. I use 3 whole squares and 3 triangles (1/2 squares) every night to cover my forehead. so that's 4 1/2 squares a night out of 100 a pack. The last photo is how I arrange them on my forehead. I did try to skimp out and use less by using them on only on my 11 lines but it didn't work well and left indentations where the borders of the patches were. Definitely need to cover the whole forehead for results. Update June 2025: These are still a miracle and yes, they work! I dont squint nearly as much anymore or raise my brow. They definitely helped me train my muscles as they suggested. This helps keep my results throughout the day. Dont expect them to do it for you though, you WILL have to be conscious about it until you make it a habit. But these remind you quick as its crispy and pulls and lifts if you make any wrinkle forming gestures. Leave them on as long as you can and practice laughing and smiling and being mad without moving your brow. You have to use good skincare routines in combination with them. I use Purity One step 2x a day and their retinol ultimate miracle worker cream and the hyaluronic acid serum. I also use 30 spf sunscreen moisturizer every morning on top. I am about to be 39 for context. My skin looks amazing as long as I use these products. I am acne prone and sensitive skin. Frownies do not irritate or break me out. They might be working on the smell too! I just got a box that seems a little different. The squares seem crispier and smell more minty than stinky. That's great! Hopefully they stick with improving the smell. I perfected my application and found that moistening them with a mist bottle helps to wet them and not too much, then swirl around the glue with your finger and let dry about 30 seconds before applying. It should feel almost dry to get the best stick. I accidentally fell asleep the other night and neglected my skin care and frownies, and woke up to some lines. Not as drastic as my previous before photo however so I feel like I am getting better and better results as we go. I have these on subscribe and save every three weeks and its perfect timing. Everyone keeps asking me what I am doing and these are a big part of it! Go for it!

Very disappointed, results don't last, too expensive
I am in my late 30s have tried Frownies off and on for years. I have a very expressive face with deep 11 lines and forehead wrinkles. Wearing these overnight I see a noticeable improvement in my 11 lines in the morning, but the results never last longer than an hour. Because applying these easily doubles the length of my usual nighttime routine and having them on is a complete intimacy killer (and they also scare my young child), I've never wore them every night, usually doing a few nights here and there. Most recently I committed to using a single box start to finish, wearing them every night in a row until the box was done. Now I can officially say I'm not impressed. I had no issues with application, fragrance, or skin irritation, although I'd occasionally get a breakout or two in areas I never get them when I used Frownies, and sometimes the edges of the patches would leave creases in my skin where I didn't have wrinkles before (especially the corners, which tend to curl). My forehead did look noticeably better in the morning after wearing them 10+ hours overnight but those results don't last throughout the day, not even close (although using them regularly did make my forehead extra shiny). I suspect all the before and after photos are from people taking a picture before putting them on and then being photographed immediately after removing them. Maybe if you start using these in your early 20s, have great, well hydrated skin with few wrinkles to begin with, and use these religiously I could absolutely see them preventing the development of wrinkles as you sleep, but I think the idea of them "splinting your muscles and training you not to activate your forehead muscles" is absolute garbage. These do not give lasting results if you actually have wrinkles. I also didn't notice any difference from using them once or using them consistently. Additionally, 144 patches refers to the small triangle shape, not the square shape. I use 8 triangles (three larger squares and two smaller triangles) to cover my wrinkles, if I wanted to cover my entire forehead I'd have to use 10. I have a pretty average sized forehead (certainly not large), so anyone using just 4-6 patches (as Frownies suggests is enough for most users) either has a tiny forehead or is only covering a small area of their forehead. At 8 patches per night, a single box lasts just 18 days. I'd need to use 1 2/3 boxes a month to wear them for 30 days (as suggested to see results), so at $25/box that's $41.67/month. Cheaper than Botox I guess, but certainly not cheap. And not worth the price of no results. Previously, I always gave Frownies the benefit of the doubt, since I never wore them consistently for more than a week, so I thought maybe I'd have better luck if I used them every night. Now that I've used a whole box start to finish and worked out the cost of everyday use, I can firmly say I would not recommend them and will not be purchasing them again. They may work for a small subset of the population, but they are certainly not as good as the advertising claims.

Frownies: The Patch That Might Just Make You Feel Like a Baby Again (Kind Of)
So let me just preface this by saying I'm 37, but in my head, I'm still 27. My body, on the other hand, likes to remind me every morning with new laugh lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles that I'm *actually* closer to 42. So when I heard about Frownies- these weird little adhesive patches that you slap on your face to "erase" wrinkles- I thought, "Why not? I'd settle for looking 32 at this point." Here's what I found after giving them a go for a couple of weeks. Spoiler alert: I'm still not 27, but I'm getting somewhere. Pros: 1. Saves Money: We all know Botox is a *little* expensive. So, if you’re looking for a less painful (and cheaper) way to smooth out those forehead creases that have slowly become permanent, Frownies are a steal. They cost about the same as a nice lunch out, and they won’t make your face look like you’ve had an accidental freeze-frame. (I’m looking at you, botched Botox.) 2. It Actually Works… Sort Of: Surprisingly, the patches *do* seem to help smooth out wrinkles. I've been putting them on my forehead and between my eyebrows, and after a night of sleeping with them on, my skin feels a bit smoother in the morning. It's not like I'm suddenly 10 years younger-what would I do with that kind of luck?.-but I'd say I look… maybe 32? Which is a win for me, honestly. 3. Makes Me Feel a Little Younger: Kind Of The psychological boost is real. After peeling off these little patches in the morning and seeing a less wrinkled face staring back at me in the mirror, I feel like I just hit the "refresh" button on my face. It's like a tiny, nonsurgical facelift, except I didn't have to go to a clinic or sell my kidney in order to pay for it. It's more of a "nice try" at feeling youthful, rather than an actual miracle. Cons: 1. Inconsistent Results: And here's the kicker: Sometimes, they work like magic; other times, it feels like some kind of cruel joke. Maybe it's just me being bad at applying them, but some days I wake up feeling like eternal youth is mine; other days, it feels like I've just been sleeping with two sticky pieces of paper on my face for no reason. It's a bit of a lottery, honestly. 2. Takes Trial and Error to Put Them On: You ever try to put a patch on your forehead in the middle of the night while half asleep and end up sticking it to your hairline instead? Yeah, me neither. *Except I totally did that.* The instructions say to apply them on clean, dry skin, but it's hard to look *fresh* while you're fumbling around trying to line up little sticky pieces on your face like you're preparing for a scientific experiment. It's a little more complicated than just slapping on a face mask — it takes patience, and possibly a mirror. Definitely a mirror. 3. Feel Ridiculous Wearing Them: Listen, when you put these patches on, you *know* you look ridiculous. Picture going to bed looking like you're preparing for a costume party as a wrinkle-free mannequin. If you're the self-conscious type, then don't even think about wearing these when your partner is in the room. You will definitely be asked the "What in the world is that? " question. They work best when you're by yourself or under the cover of darkness, which is how I prefer to live anyway. Conclusion: Frownies are the quirky, budget-friendly alternative to more invasive treatments, and while they're not going to turn me into a 27-year-old again-unfortunately-they do provide a decent way to smooth things out for a more youthful look, sans emptying your wallet or having to pretend to be okay with needles. Admittedly, they can be a little tricky to apply, and often you'll wake up feeling like a failed science experiment, but when they do work, they really *do* make you feel like you've got a few more years of youth tucked away. Would I recommend them? Sure, but if you're ready to take on the weirdness. Also, calibrate your expectations low, because you'll probably still have those lines, but at least you'll have tried. And hey, feeling *slightly* younger is a win in my book.

Unfair to review after just one box - but like them so far!
I’ll share my experience so far, (3 months/boxes in) but I also think it’s unfair to review these after just one box. Using Frownies is like working out- the more consistent you are with using them over a long period of time, the better the results. I am noticing some softening of my forehead lines so far, but just as they disclaim on their website, you may see them come back as the day goes on at first. But the longer you use them, the more those lines will stay smoothed out. A few cons: - These have learning curve to apply. I think after about a week, I figured out how to lay them in a happen on my forehead that worked for me. They also take TIME to apply, so if you’re not a person who likes to do a nightly skin care routine, they may not be for you. - They do have an odor since the adhesive on the back is a natural adhesive. It reminds me of the adhesive on an envelope. I used their rose water hydrator for application to combat the scent and using a spray bottle is much easier for application vs running them under water. - The box comes with 144 patches, but I use about 3-4 patches a night to cover my forehead. So a box lasts me about a month. Will I continue using them? Yes, esp since I’m pregnant and plan to breastfeed after, I can’t get Botox for the time being. I may update this review after a year to share my results after a longer period of time.

Very Impressed!
These worked better than I was expecting. They aren’t difficult to apply, you just have to be patient and hold them in place until they don’t slide around. The video directions you get help a lot in how to apply them correctly. They harden almost like a cast, but I didn’t find them uncomfortable to wear over night. The pieces tear into triangles, so you can use smaller pieces or move them around to fit your forehead better. I am able to cover my target area with 6 triangles, so I will get about 28 over night uses from the pack. They do leave a film on your fingers when applying them and have a slight odor, but it is not something that would deter me from using them. I really couldn’t smell it unless I put my hand up to my face after applying them. I had noticeable results after the first night of wearing them. My forehead feels tighter after wearing them, and it made the lines I had much less noticeable. Image is after only three nights of wearing it.

Mixed Feelings from a 25 Year Old Dermatology Assistant
About me: I’m a very facially expressive 25 year old with the genetic predisposition for all the fine lines and wrinkles. Currently my forehead and frown lines are the most prominent and are starting to linger there for the majority of the day. They don’t bother me much and my goal for this product was the prevention of the lines deepening over time and becoming more permanent. Because I work in dermatology I’ve been privy to trying Botox on my 11s as it’s one of the recommended preventative treatments for fine lines and wrinkles. About the product: This product has an application learning curve. The glue is sticky and smells of peppermint and applying these patches is kind of messy. I watched their tutorial that said to create a “cast” for your forehead with these things. This “cast” is uncomfortable and itchy and I’ve woken up at 4am a few times literally itching to take this cast off. I also personally hate tearing these little things along the perforated lines because they do rip apart and they do fly all over the place and it just annoys me. Results: After a week of wearing these overnight my forehead feels dryer. I let my normal moisturizer to absorb before applying these and I used oil to moisturize after removing them. I appreciate that these didn’t cause any breakouts as my skin is sensitive and acne prone. Nonetheless, my fine lines and wrinkles reappear within a few hours of removing the patches in the morning. I think that these are not so much for ironing out the fine lines/wrinkles but for reminding yourself to stop moving your forehead. I think regular tape (or surgical tape) can do the same thing for a fraction of the price and an easier application process. Comparing to Botox: I used 6 patches a day. So 144 patches would last me 24 days (I don’t particularly believe that wearing these 3 times a week would do anything…I think these should be worn daily for consistent results). Botox for 5 months in the 11s would cost a 25 year old about $100 (ask to be charged per unit of Botox not per area…it’s usually cheaper for younger folks than laying “per area”). 5 month supply of these would add up to be $125. So for a similar price you can skip the application time and the discomfort and just get Botox with similar results. I COULD STILL MOVE MY FOREHEAD WITH THE FROWNIE “CAST”. You physically cannot move most of your forehead with a Botox injection in the 11s region. Once the Botox starts to wear off, your muscles need to “remember” how to move which is the effect that these patches are trying to emulate. Disclaimer: Always talk to your medical professional about whether or not Botox is right for you. I experienced headaches and discomfort with Botox, which is why I tried these patches in the first place. There are other neurotoxins on the market that have different results and different side effects. I think this summer I will try Dysport or Jeuveau instead, but these patches are a waste of money and time in my opinion unless they work differently for older people.
