Awesome game
**ARK: Survival Evolved - Nintendo Switch Review**ARK: Survival Evolved is an ambitious open-world survival game that immerses players in a prehistoric environment filled with dinosaurs, dangerous creatures, and the constant challenge of survival. The Nintendo Switch version brings the core experience of the game to a portable console, but it comes with some notable compromises.### **Gameplay**The gameplay is as captivating as ever, allowing players to hunt, tame, and ride dinosaurs, craft tools, build bases, and explore a vast, dynamic world. The survival mechanics and multiplayer options provide endless replayability, especially for fans of sandbox-style games. However, the complexity of the controls can feel a bit cumbersome on the Switch, especially for new players.### **Graphics and Performance**One of the biggest drawbacks of the Switch version is its graphical quality. The visuals are heavily downgraded compared to other platforms, with low-resolution textures and frequent frame rate drops. This can detract from the immersive experience, especially for players who are used to the game on PC or other consoles.### **Portability**The biggest advantage of the Switch version is its portability. Being able to jump into the world of ARK on the go is a unique experience that no other version offers. However, the technical limitations might make longer gaming sessions less enjoyable.### **Verdict**While ARK: Survival Evolved on the Nintendo Switch is a technically impressive achievement, its performance issues and graphical downgrades make it a less-than-ideal version of the game. Hardcore fans of the franchise or players looking for a portable ARK experience may still find enjoyment, but newcomers or those with access to other platforms might be better served elsewhere.**Rating: 6/10**

Fun survival game
If you like survival games where you start with nothing and have to build, eat, drink, explore, and fight off creatures, you will like this. This is a fun game and will eat a lot of your time. It takes some learning to figure out some controls and what you need to do to build things when you first start. I had to look up some things on youtube to figure out how to do certain things. Youtube gave me valuable tips on how to build certain things, tame creatures, and other aspects.Others have complained about it being buggy. I have ran into places where the drop crate goes partly into the ground and you can’t open it. Ive also had a raft get stuck on something and will not move. Make sure to stop in water that you go under over your head to prevent it from getting stuck. I think the laggy issue has been fixed, or at least it runs good for me. I play single player, so maybe this is more of a problem when playing on line. Ive never played on other systems, so feel the graphics are pretty good.Overall i really enjoy this game.

Minecraft with Dinosaurs!
First off, for people that have never played this game before:It's basically high-def Minecraft with dinosaurs (although you can't burrow underground here). You build, catch, kill, tame, and hopefully mostly survive.- Make a tiny house before nightfall- Catch and tame critters before you can ride them, use them for their resources- Build a fence around said critters (so they don't get eaten by something else; you CAN park them and leave them though)- Plant crops and farm if you want. It's cool. Just be a farmer. A boring old farmer. On Magical Dinosaur-Riding Island- If you die you respawn naked but your stuff stays with your corpse and is retrievable for a set amount of time- Metal Pickaxes and Metal Hatchets- No Diamond Sword, but you can build several types of guns- There is also paint in case after building all available guns, you decide you want to emblazon the side of your base with the Confederate flag- Bright, noticeable colors are probably better for small bases and platforms meant to let you land your flying mounts for a stamina recharge, because a forced landing in a swamp will probably kill you- Mine are pink and yellow in honor of Elle Woods. Highly visibleAnd now on to the actual review:I also have this on the PS4, and while there is a noticeable depletion of texture quality I haven't had the same problems with lag others are reporting. It does, however, take several minutes to load up worlds initially.I took away a star for the texture quality. The other issues ARK has are issues it carries across platforms: dinosaurs spontaneously disappearing (falling through the map and reappearing at the exact center of the island as the legend goes), the odd way it differenciates between "this is indoors" and "this is outdoors", and the building system having issues with slopes despite pretty much the entire Island being sloped (Get used to support columns and ramps. This will be on the Test. The consequence for failing The Test is death).I did not take stars away for these issues because, as previously noted, I've played it on the PS4 and expected those code gremlins to survive the port, because why would they fix them for only one of the four systems on which this game is available?Still worthwhile although I would avoid playing in mobile as the loss of texture makes it pretty painful, at least for me.

Quit listening to everyone that absolutely hates the switch version
I docked my switch to the TV and bought a controller. It looks great! I've played it on ps4 & PC before and the only difference is the graphics that are in the far distance (trees). But if you love the gameplay like i do, it won't bother you at al. I was very impressed. And cross-playing online with my friend that has a ps4 works great.
