I’m not one to write reviews but when I was desperate for a solution, other people’s comments were very helpful to me. Now I want to pay it forward. Although a prescription isn't needed, I encourage a visit with your dermatologist first to explore contributing factors. For me, I had some vitamin decencies that may have added to my hereditary hair loss. So my results also include taking MD recommended vitamins based on bloodwork. I’ve been using the 5% foam for about 4 & a half months. I am very happy with the new hair growth & coverage of my crown & part which were noticeable thin when I started & not so much now! It works!!! I’m not overly methodical with application; however I use it nearly every day with a few exceptions. For sustainability, I apply it pretty quickly & use my clawed hand to massage it into my scalp. Overall, I’m really pleased & glad I found an effective solution! I wish you all successfully results!

I have long hair that began falling out a lot, looking thin and stringy and growing very slowly. There were no obvious balding spots, just diffuse fall all over. My hair pattern did not look like the picture on the box. I tried shampoos, Viviscal, essential oils and my hair just kept falling out. I was afraid to try Rogaine since it can cause more hair loss and also since it requires a lifetime commitment. Finally, I gave in. It kept falling out a lot until after about 3 months, one morning when I washed my hair only a few hairs came out of my head. Now I have lots of growth all over and my hair looks good again. I don't think it is as thick as it was but it feels good and looks good. I have started using Rogaine for men that I purchased at Costco because of the price. Women are charged at least twice as much because the dosage for men is 2 times a day and the price is actually lower per dose. It's the exact same ingredients. My application process: This takes me 10-15 minutes, every day. I wash my hair every other day and apply in the morning. It is easier to apply when it's wet because it is easier to part my hair. I start by parting my hair in the middle. I have a hand-held mirror and while holding it to see the back of my head, I use a comb to part my hair in the back of my head. I have 4 hair clips ready to hold my hair in place. I clip them to my shirt near my shoulder so I can grab them without looking and clip my hair in place to hold the part. I use the comb to find the part, put it down while still holding the mirror and grab a clip and secure the hair. Then I put some Rogaine on my finger and start applying to the part. I repeat this parting my hair 3-4 times on each side of my head. After, if it is wet from washing, I apply some hair products and blow dry. Pros: * Hair stopped falling out after 3 months * After 4 months I can see lots of new growth all over * Hair looks healthier in general, like it did before it all started falling out Cons: * I have some unwanted extra hair growth on my neck even though I don't get the product anywhere near my neck. I wax and/or shave the hair because no woman should have hair growing all over her neck. Still, I'd rather remove that hair and have nice hair on my head. * It is a significant increase in my morning routine - every day. I spend 10-15 minutes applying the foam. * Cost can be high and the women's version fluctuates quite a lot. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your perspective), Rogaine foam for men is at least half the cost and is the exact same product. I buy it at Costco and it is a great deal with the same results.

Used for 5 months, then again after 4 months. Here’s my review. Used it for 5 months from February to July: I’m a woman at 31, with short to medium-length hair. Everyone wants to know if it works first, and the answer is YES! I started using this in February 2018 to grow some of my hair back. By March, I started noticing that my hair was growing out a little bit thicker. In April, I took a trip to Singapore and Japan, and continued to use this religiously every morning while I was there. Singapore was really hot and humid, by the way, so using this made me feel a bit heavy, but I had gotten used to it. By this time, my bald spot wasn’t apparent anymore. Having a head full of hair without any glares from the top of my skull made me feel more confident about myself. Promise delivered: My hair fell out a lot less in the shower, and like I said, my bald spots weren’t so visible and apparent anymore. In fact, I no longer noticed them. My roots became super thick as well, my baby hairs around my hairline were growing so beautifully and abundantly that I kept touching it. Another thing is that this product was a little like mouse or wax, so I actually didn’t have to use any other hair products while I was using Rogaine. Allergy to Rogaine developed – the consequences: By July, however, my scalp had started to itch. It itched so badly that I had to stop the Rogaine treatment altogether. This wasn’t due to the weather. I think I developed some kind of allergy to Rogaine because 4 months later in November, I tried to use it again and had the same exact itching reaction by the 2nd day! My head was itchy, the Rogaine came off with my skin in patches… You get the idea. So I can no longer use Rogaine ever again. And no, it had nothing to do with the specific bottle. I had been using the same bottle during the month of July when this allergy suddenly happened. So, I can no longer ever use Rogaine again! What happened after I stopped the Rogaine treatments: So did my hair fall out after I stopped using Rogaine? Well, actually… It didn’t fall out excessively like it used to before I used Rogaine. In fact, for the first month after stopping the Rogaine treatments, my hair stayed almost intact. Very little missing hair, no bald spot… My head and hair wasn’t reverting back to how it used to be, like others said it would when you stop using Rogaine. This stayed like this for an entire month. After a month, my hair did start falling out, but slowly. My hair remained thick. I think it has something to do with the Biotin shampoo I was using once in a while though. Anyways, 4 months later (in November) was when I actually started noticing my bald spot again. Yeah, I was surprised it took 4 months for my hair to fall out instead of immediately after I stopped using Rogaine. Maybe I had changes in my lifestyle? Gosh, I can’t imagine what changed though. I gained more weight I guess…? My biotin shampoo that I occasionally use? I don’t know… Conclusion: Rogaine works. For some, like me, it will work better than for others. However, I developed an allergy to this thing mid-way through it. I itched like crazy for 2 weeks before the inflammation went away. So, while I do recommend it, I just thought I’d let people know that the allergy symptoms are a possible side-effect. How to apply: I recommend looking on any Youtube videos, but basically: - Hair must be dry. - I filled the cap from the rogaine bottle 3/4th full. This is enough for my short to medium-length hair. Sometimes, if I need more, I squeeze about a 5th out into the cap at a time. - I use a fine tooth comb with a pointed end to split my hair. Using a comb that you don’t share with others is ideal for Rogaine so that the product doesn’t transfer to your regular brush. - Split your hair section by section as you apply with your finger little bit at a time. - When done, rinse the cap and the comb, then style your hair as usual. This gets easier and faster as you do it. It first took me 20 minutes each day, but then I got so quick at it that it only takes me 3-5 minutes.

I wish I would have tried this sooner! My hair started thinning when I was about 18-19 years old. It just seemed to get worse every year. If I had a dollar for every time I tried someone's suggestions over the last 20+ years I'd be rich. Not to mention all the money sunk into different products, vitamins, shampoos, etc. I resisted using this for the longest time, partially due to the cost, and partially due to the long term commitment, as well as the concerns about pet safety. I finally gave in and figured i had nothing left to lose, except more hair, and started this regimen in August. While I was concerned about the initial shedding period, and it was a little scary while it was happening, in abiut 2 months I started to notice a difference. The shedding slowed, and I had lots of tiny little new hairs coming in. By the 3rd month or so I could feel a difference. When I touched my head, I felt a little volume of hairs that wasn't there before. I can only describe it as a little bounce under my fingers. Today, around 5 months later, I was looking at a picture someone shared of me from before and it struck me there really is a difference. Here's a before, from the month I started, to today, about 5 total months of daily use (with a day missed here or there).

I haven’t seen much improvement yet, and it seems like it will take a long time to show results. I also noticed more hair shedding since I began using it, which was worrying. Overall, the results so far have been disappointing.
