Good for teeth and gums.

My dog is older and he was getting GREAT teeth check ups and then he wasn't. Happened fast. I was using a tooth product and then just didn't seem to work as well any longer. As my dog is older, I weighed the idea of a professional cleaning (where he WOULD BE knocked out for it) and the possible side effects, dangers, so trying something else. I researched A LOT. I have used Zymox products in the past, just not their ORATENE products, and decided to first use their ANTIBACTERIAL GEL (that you just use for a week or so, to reduce infection) and then I switched to using the ORATENE MAINTENANCE GEL EVERY DAY. So far, it has made a big difference and I have tried other products before this. SO, if your dog needs a teeth cleaning, has gum issues, I suggest just researching, talking to your vet and weighing the options and pros and cons of each, especially if your dog is older and/or has other health issues. For some dogs, the professional cleaning may be the best or only option, but I wasn't willing to have my dog, at his age, put under for the cleaning if I could possibly help it. For now, this seems to be helping quite a bit. First clue, was his breath is not like a combination of sewer and roadkill.

My dog is a rescue dog. Me having a great deal of money it helped get her through a good deal of pain. Had to have all her teeth removed but this made the transition much easier. I would highly recommend!

My cats don’t seem to mind the taste of it which is a good thing. It seems to be working pretty well so far in keeping their teeth cleaned!

Easy to use , my dog loves this . Wish it were a bigger tube to last longer.

Does this thing actually work? I got this from the recommendation of my vet. I have used this on my cat Monty for a while but I am not seeing much of the difference

I tried at least 4 other dog dental gels before I found this one... wish I had just seen this right off the bat. This one works where the others didn't do much of anything. I put a dab on the upper gums over the back molars on each side of my 10 year old cockerpoo's mouth in the morning, and also in the evening. The tartar is bascially all gone. For the record, I still brush with canine tooth paste - our vet believes that helps stimulate the gums and fight periodontitis. However, where I used to brush for 2 or 3 minutes, frankly just a good quick scrub with the toothbrush each night does the trick. I think this gel does the heavy lifting. I would not try using this gel with a brush - it is too gooey. But it works great with a dab on the finger and just rubbing it on the gums. Let the enzymes do the work!

It works and is Veterinary recommended. Would never use another product for my puppers!!

Easy to apply, seems to keep dogs teeth clean with chewing helping also

I think it works but not to the extent of what others are saying. It is costly.
