Buy with confidence
Got a 40 Channel sound board (viva analog!) - this kit is perfect, the small little sticks fit between the slots to access the slider pots, cleans them well and does the job - I love this kid, and have bought more for some friends - I do need to figure out how to get more of the mini swabs....

Great Product - Come on Guys!!!
There is no doubt that CAIG products are indispensable for anyone who works with vintage audio gear. It's honestly almost miraculous in what it can do to restore old neglected equipment and return it to near new condition, even for amateurs. I have been using it for years, mostly on vintage items I purchase on eBay. The Deoxit D5 has been the primary product I used and it really does make a difference. With the purchase of this kit I was introduced to a number of CAIG's other products, especially the Deoxit Gold. Don't get me wrong - these are MARVELOUS products. But come on guys, for the price I get a few tiny spray cans barely sufficient for a single use. You own this market and you can do better! When we buy a kit at this price, give us some reasonable samples. You know we will be back so don't be so stingy with the products that we really need like the D5 and the Gold! Just my two cents! Thanks for listening.

My Vintage Pioneer Receiver is Back in Action!
My vintage 1974 Pioneer SX-636 receiver was starting to have the occasional crackle and the right channel would intermittently cut out. Pressing a few toggles and playing with switches on the front would usually fix the problem for a little while but it really did get to be annoying happening more and more often. The first solution for all problems of this kind on vintage audio equipment is a thorough cleaning with DeOxit.I purchased this kit and took the bottom off the receiver so I could see the pots and toggles. I spent about 10 minutes spraying each switch with the Red D5 solution and working the switches back and forth multiple times. I followed this up with a spray of the Green FaderLube solution in each one followed by another round of pushing and turning. Let the stereo sit a few hours and then plugged it back in. Like magic, the receiver not only sounds a little "crisper" but the right channel has stayed strong all day and not one crackle. No more getting up in the middle of a song to press buttons like a monkey until I have both channels. I am a happy camper.

At least Most of it was GREAT.
Use it sparingly and it goes along way; also a must if you want to keep things clean and not greasy. When it got the static fuzz'n out from my guitar-amp's knobs (pots). I realized that everything was either a Pot; Fader; Switch; or electrical connector of some kind. Best to say everything is Lubed and make'n good contactI would have gave it five stars...however... Every-Single-Wipes-Packets came Bone Dry (a 1/3rd of the kit might I add). The strange thing was that many packets were still all air tight and still had sealed air when squeezed. So I could maybe understand if it was a bad seal and it evaporated but ALL of them were pretty much just fabric in a foil bag. Everything else worked great so I didnt even bother returning. Still very disappointing tho.

CAIG chemicals work wonders, but you should buy a bigger can of Deoxit to go along with this kit
A good kit, BUT only enough to do one basic refurbishment of a single piece of audio equipment. In my case, I ran out of Deoxit before I was able to finish my 1976 Pioneer SX-1050. It'd be nice if the Deoxit was about 3-4x more product, as the other chemicals in this kit go further than the Deoxit does. That being said, I was absolutely successful in restoring my old SX-1050 with this kit, the Deoxit is a miracle worker. I can assure you, when you restore good, vintage equipment, nothing made these days can touch it. Vintage receivers are not yet outdated, they only are missing a remote control. They sound superior to ANYTHING made today. If you have a vintage high end receiver or find one at Goodwill, swoop it up and restore it yourself. SOOO worth it!I acquired more Deoxit and restored another vintage Pioneer receiver (that one required some component repair also) and a Technics turntable, it worked wonders on all my gear. This is a good kit, but you may want to buy a full size can of Deoxit. I recently bought a vintage Honda Prelude with the original "premium" oh-so 80's stereo system in it, and I'll be going over that with Deoxit and faderlube also!

Great product, just buy the full size cans.
Great product, but don't bother this kit. The containers are smaller than you think they are (like ridiculously small) and there isn't really a huge variety of product version a. Just get the real containers and and buy another kit with the tools.Package was also missing the booklet, which leads me to believe they've got QC problems, or for the third time in the last five packages, Amazin sent me a re-packed item (in other words, a returned open box item). Not a fan of this trend.

Buy Two, You'll Love It!
After not using my high end 70's analog stereo gear for the past ten years (out of the country for most of it), I decided to get it back into shape. Turning the system on was a dreadful experience, popping and crackling through the speakers, both channels were intermittent as well as the volume controls, connections, faders etc. and the midrange was very fuzzy. I purchased this kit, read the instructions and began to rework the associated switches per the directions. I took the cabinet tops off all the components, cleaned every switch, fader and control mechanism as well as all of the input connectors and the jacks on the cables. Put the cabinet tops back on the receiver and amp, cabled the system back up and with some degree of trepidation, turned the power back on. I was treated to nothing but beautiful music! I was amazed at the difference! I don't remember the system sounding this good back in the 70's! Every single issue/problem was gone! Absolutely Awesome Product! My recommendation is to buy two, because you're going to want to use this product on all of your AV products.
