Can you make Buckwheat Tea using this ?

Dear Paul, yes, raw buckwheat groats can be used to make tea, although this is not the primary way we would suggest to use it. Buckwheat groats are perfect for porridge, salads, stews, risotto, muesli or granola, and sprouting. Raw buckwheat groats can be sprouted easily. For the greater nutritional benefit, we recommend soaking the raw buckwheat before using. Do you make porridge with this in the usual way by heating it up in a pan with milk?

Absolutely! You can use just buckwheat or half buckwheat and half oats. I usually soak them separately overnight in filtered water and next day cook it with dairy or nut milk for 15 min

does cooking it sprout it?

Dear Craig, cooking does not sprout it. However, sprouted raw buckwheat is the most beneficial to eat! It is a good idea to soak raw buckwheat, as it kickstarts the sprouting process. Preparation: Rinse 100–150 g of raw buckwheat under running water and take out any grains that rise to the top. Place a wet towel on a large plate and smooth the grains on it in a thin layer. Cover with another towel. Let the grains sprout in a warm (20–25 degrees) and dark place. Wet the towel once a day. The grains will sprout within 36 hours. Eat the sprouts when they are around 2-3 mm long. They will keep in the fridge for 4-5 days. The sprouts should not be longer than 2-3 mm. Longer sprouts have spent their vitality on growing. Buckwheat synthesises and collects a lot of vitamins, enzymes and other bioactive compounds to grow the sprout. How long should it be cooked/boiled for?

I don't cook them but sprout them and then use the sprouted wheat as a basis for my own granola, but the instructions on the packet say to roast until crisp then cook with 2 parts water for 15-25 minutes until tender.
