Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress winner Cecilia Cheung (Lost In Time, Running On Karma) and Francis Ng (Big Bullet) star in this period martial arts action comedy. Cheung is "Little White Dragon", a noblewoman and a kung fu hero whose beauty soon catches the eye of the crown prince. He sends White Dragon to capture an assassin, a blind swordsman (Ng). But when White Dragon and the Blind Swordsman subsequently fall for each other, they decide to work together and combat the crown prince, who has a sinister plan of his own. Its power cannot be stopped. In the vein of House of Flying Daggers, this martial arts film is action-packed with fun, stylized martial arts scenes. A young noblewoman falls in love with a prince of the Imperial House. By accident, she acquires the martial arts skills of the White Dragon. New in her power, she learns that there are definite advantages in performing "good deeds" as the Little White Dragon. When she discovers that a famed assassin is planning to kill her beloved prince, she seeks to prevent this by killing the assassin first. After more than one unsuccessful attempt, she begins to grow in her compassion and understanding for the blind assassin. The real plot behind the assassination attempts on the prince is uncovered because of her decisions. This is a very touching story, great humor, and fight scenes. Now the problem with the negative critics, is that they are comparing martial arts movies. You don't compare martial arts movies. Its either you like the movie or you don't. Actually thats the problem with lots of critics... they compare one movie to another. Everything has its good and bad and everything is good or bad depending on your likes and dislikes. Remember, its a MOVIE! NOT reality. Review: Love story with blades - Not much fighting at all more of a love story very boring.

Brilliant
This movie went far beyond the expectations that I had for it. It has action in it but this movie is a comedy. If you want hard core action go find a different movie but if you want a good movie that will make you laugh then this is the one for you.

Strange, Beautiful, Touching, and Very Goofy
I can't recommend this film to everyone. It's not really a kung fu movie. It has kung fu in it, and the sequences of Wu Shu action are done well enough. But there just isn't that much fighting and much of it is played for humor. And the humor is what makes it hard to recommend. There are moments of intentionally absurd "Airplane" style humor. For example, our heroine receives her powers via an internet download style graphic (complete with percentage complete bar). And there's a reference to McDonalds. These strange bits did make me laugh, so I can't be too hard on them. Aside from the humor, this is a very conventional Asian melodrama. Except not everybody dies. I liked the characters, the story, and pretty much everything else. I can't say exactly why though. See it if you're interested in something different. But expect a little strangeness. You have been warned.

Fantastic Romance, Martial Arts, Touch of Comedy
Some Idiot compared this film to Seven Swords and The Emporer and the Assassin ...he is simple minded when it comes to Asian Arts and Films...This isn't to be put in the Category of those films....This is a Martial Arts / Romance about a Stuck up girl and a Humble man who was a mercenary for hire who saved his money to receive his sight....Two who wound up falling in love...It is Great!..A Worth See...But don't watch it in it's Original Language First IF you plan on watching it in English Dubbed..Cause the Original Language is BEST! and the English Dubbed is rather Stupid and don't fit the characters AT ALL! ....Enjoy This Film...

Great Hong Kong Comedy
One can never understand the humor and spirit in this movie if one does not understand Cantonese or has not lived in Hong Kong. This is meant to be a light-hearted comedy! The dialogs are filled with contemporary everyday Hong Kong slangs! When translated into English, they may seem stupid and out-of-place, but the movie uses these dialogs ON PURPOSE to achieve a brillant level of mocking humor. This is not meant to be an epic, but a very enjoyable movie by all means.
