I've always loved and trusted the Birkenstock brand and when my employer decided to implement a new dress code that no longer allowed us to wear our athletic shoes to work I decided to go on a hunt for an affordable pair of Birkenstock clogs. The last pair I bought through Amazon was a size smaller and that made them a bit too tight to wear with heavy winter socks. As many of you are probably also experiencing, we've had some brutally cold weather this winter, so heavy socks are mandatory to keep my toes toasty. I absolutely LOVE the dark brown leather and find these to live up to the high Birkenstock standards! I have plantar fasciitis, gout and arthritis which all contribute to ongoing or potential issues with my feet. These shoes help lessen the pain and provide the support needed while still fitting within the business casual attire required at work. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a comfortable pair of shoes that provide support and will last a long time. It is very nice not to have to change shoes every time I want to go for a walk!

It was time for another pair of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. (I have been wearing Birkenstocks at least some of the time for twenty years. These days I wear them more and more as retirement eases style requirements.) This pair, like the others I have owned, fits right and is happy to walk ten miles in the city. NOTE that Birkenstocks are unisex. The description 'Women's' puzzled me for a moment, but the price was a dinner out less than the same thing from another seller without the 'Women's' label.

My first pair of Birks. I had to return 2 times - third time's a charm - free of charge to get the right size. Mind you, I'm buying a unisex Birk for my men's size 12. It took me a bit to train my feet to embrace them, but we have a comfortable relationship. Meanwhile, these puppy's do stretch a bit. I like to go sockless, and they're a tiny bit loose in my sweaty bare feet (oh, and they're hot in the summer). But I just KNOW that these shoes are going to be awesome with some nice, cozy socks this upcoming Maine fall/winter.
