Perfect holds together well

This cheese slicer is perfect if you require extremely thin slices of semi-hard cheese. I use it for the Norwegian cheese Brunost (also known as Gjetost; brand name SkiQueen). and also for medium to sharp cheddars. It's great for dieters, or any cheese lovers simply watching their weight. The thin slices are delicious for strong tasting cheeses, and are excellent on thinly sliced pieces of apple. For best results, your cheese should be cold from the refrigerator when sliced.

I would give it a negative if I could. Slicer blades are so tight together that all you can slice is slivers of cheese. Comes of off if paper thin pieces and not a whole slice just small random pieces. I thought I bought this from our local store so now after first time using it I missed the return window.

sturdy and so handy for cold butter!!! Makes just the right thickness of butter or cheese.

Here are your choices, cheeseheads. Pre sliced- for microwaved bread. Deli sliced, no more than 150 grams, consumed in two days. Block. Fine, you can pare ou bits with a paper, slice as needed with a good knife, kept clean and honed. Or this. It’s OK, but the slicer blade isn’t very sharp. Cheap enough though, and if you keep gobbling cubes of Cheddar, your Cardiologist might upgrade his Macan to a GTS model.

It works great but it slices the cheese very thin! I like it that way but some may not!

Exactly what I was looking for. So done with the wire cheese cutters so was looking for something solid and this meets my needs.
