Jumpstart 3D Virtual World: The Legend of Grizzly McGuffin [Old Version]

Could not get it to upload on our Dell computer. Sent message to Jump Start Customer Assistance as directed. Then I contacted our computer assistance company. They worked on the problem for HOURS and did not get it fixed. It sits in its box...UNUSED. I may send it back yet !!!!

The post above is not correct....when installing this, they link you to their website and OFFER you the chance to subscribe for $8/month or $40-ish/year, which allows you to download and play EVERY jumpstart game (rather than purchasing each one at a store for $10-$20 per game). However, they don't require it. If you just skip this step and close out of the web browser, the game installs and plays as a standalone game. I just installed it yesterday without subscribing, but my little girl (4) seems to love it so much already that I'm thinking of subscribing for a month and seeing how it goes from there...

I bought this for my 4 year old son and he soon finished it and of course wanted more. Initially I wasn't too crazy about paying the extra $8 per month for membership but I discovered you can download the additional 3D games (rather than buying them at the store) allowing my son to continue his progress without interuption.He's now 5 and understands the concept of fractions (uh hello?). Once you've downloaded the last level (2nd grade?) you can cancel your monthly membership and it still serves it's purpose (mostly because some of the games go beyond 2nd grade ie, long/short division etc.)So for $8...it's not a bad deal + a) it's educational & b) jumpstart sends a weekly email telling you how your child is progressing, and besides c) how much would some toy that they'd forget about within a week and doesn't challege them set you back? [..]Just a thought...

I am very disappointed with this game and with Jumpstart.The box doesn't say this, but you cannot even install this game without first purchasing a $8 a month or a $75 a year membership to Jumpstart's website!Beware!!!
