Excellent Sound!! Brightens the sound of fractional violins!!
I have been playing violin for over 30 years. My child now plays and has gone through several fractional violins.IMO..These strings produce a much better sound and make the child sound better...Just a tip.. even though your child will outgrow the violins it is important to invest in quality instruments and strings.Just some math - at $30 a lesson a week that is $1500 a year. Investing in higher quality fractional instruments (recommend buying a second hand though) sound way better, easier to play, and the child enjoys playing that much more..at the end you can keep or resale..I use these strings on all my violins... The E string sings....

Good for young violinist
My kid was going to a online violin competition so I got this for her. Brilliant sounds (toward to the bright side) even me cannot stop playing on her 1/2 violin! It has been two months and it still sounds good, as my kid practiced a lot during this time. And it's much cheaper than the adult version. I think it is a trick to hook you up. I hope she wouldn't be addicted to it or we'll go bankrupted!

Bad strings
The strings were rotten and broke

Only lasted 2.5 months this time
Nice sound. The first time we bought them, they lasted around six months. Second time, it's only been about 2.5 months and it looks like a few of the strings are going to break just below the pegs. I'm not sure if the quality has gone down or if there was something about the way my 13 year old installed them. I'm going to give them another try before switching brands or vendor.

Tried these as a sub for my regulars, not going back
I play bluegrass fiddle, and had used D'Addario Helicore for years, as it was recommended as having the right edginess for bluegrass tone. They were out of the usuals (I play a 3/4 fiddle), so I bought these Pirastros, after reading the reviews. Figured I'd substitute them one time and go back to the D'Addarios. Not going back. It is true that the Pirastro strings don't have the same 'twang' that the D'Addarios do, but I like the warmer sound. I get nice big, fat, tones, which is more pleasing to my ears.
