This cookie scoop is very well-made and sturdy. I used it right away and can't believe how well it worked and fast it made the job. The medium sized scoop made perfect 2" cookies. Why have I juggled two spoons to scoop cookies all these years? The quality is excellent and it comes in a velvet bag inside a gift box. It comes from a small company that takes pride in their products and customer care. There is a lifetime guarantee you can register for, but I doubt I'll ever need it. I never write reviews, but I'm so impressed with this product that I wanted to recommend Jennaluca cookie scoops. If you're looking for a cookie scoop, this is the one to buy.

This scoop comes in a lovely, cotton-lined gift box worthy of a diamond necklace. Within that box is nestled a heavy cobalt blue velvet bag that is so lavish you'd expect the Hope Diamond to come rolling out. The trouble is, when you reach into the bag you do not find a diamond necklace. You do not even a find a pretty bracelet. You find a cookie dough scoop. So here is my advice, unless you're itching to determine just how well a cookie scoop fits into your left nostril (or perhaps some other even less spacious orifice) please do not mistake the luxuriousness of the packaging as an excuse to buy this cookie scoop for the dinner-preparer in your life. I can assure you that the anticipation created by the opulence of the packaging will only shorten the transit time from her lap to your nostril. Attention dinner-preparers. This is quite possibly the highest quality kitchen implement I've ever purchased. It's a heavy grade stainless steel. The ratchet mechanism is far superior to any curled-spring activated scoop. It washes in the dishwasher like a dream. And, it results in perfect cookies every time. I suggest buying one for yourself, discarding the unaccountably extravagant packaging, making yourself a batch of cookies and then eating every last one of them before the non-dinner-preparer in your life comes home. Jenaluca scoops are THE best scoops I've ever used, hands down. I've used cheaper ones that are super frustrating when you try to scoop cookie dough and the little piece that slides behind the dough to release the dough will pop out of place and stick out too far from the scoop bowl. This scoop never does that, and the medium size is the perfect size for making cookies or small meatballs. The way the bottom end of the scoop is designed is brilliant because there's no way for it to go off track. The quality is extremely good, AND, there's a lifetime warranty on Jenaluca scoops. It's the last scoop you'll ever have to buy!! It's so worth the money. I got one of the large size scoops almost thirty years ago and it's still in great shape. I have purchased other cookie scoops in the past and they have all broken. However, this one is great. I have used it with cold cookie dough, and no issues. It is really nice and sturdy. I would buy a second one to have as well as give as gifts. It is definitely worth the price. I highly recommend.

When I ordered this scooper, it didn't occur to me that the flange moves from right to left (when it's facing you). That means if you use it with your left hand, you're scooping from the side with the flange in the way. It needs to be on the other side to work for a left-handed person. I'm going to have to send it back and find a different design. I'm not docking stars because it was my own lack of understanding, not a defect with the item. It looks sturdy and well made.

I love this scoop! It works smoothy, is easy to clean and you can tell it's built to last. It easily scoops cookie dough and shapes it and it DOES NOT STICK! I always handwash my scoops to keep them at their best. It washes clean so easily. Did I mention it scoops so well? I will be getting a bigger sized one to go along with this one. This scoop makes good sized cookies for like a bake sale when you want to make a large amount. For my family it is a bit on the smaller side, but that's all on me, as I chose the size to purchase. I recommend this brand whole heartedly! And the scoop comes in a nice velvet bag for storage. Bonus!

I haven't used my scoop yet but I have to say that the shipping speed was fantastic and the scoop itself and the packaging are beautiful! I can't wait to use it and when I do I will update. UPDATE: Used the scoop for the first time to make cookies. I can't say enough good things about this scoop. It made perfect sized cookies (I have the medium scoop). The handle has a great fit in my hand, very comfortable grip. Not difficult at all to squeeze. And the dough comes right out of the scoop on to the pan. Just all around wonderful. Definitely worth the money. I have a feeling I will have this scoop for years because the quality of this scoop is phenomenal. Thank you Jenaluca!

One of the things that I like to do is to make cookies and then give them away to friends. One of the things that I’ve been looking for is a good cookie scoop, one that can hold up to making dozens of cookies at a time. I’ve been using the Jenaluca Ice Cream/Cookie Scoop several times a week for the past month and it has been able to stand up to even the chunkiest of cookies I have made. It is easy to operate, just scoop the cookie dough and the squeeze the handle to push the dough out of the scoop. I’ve had other cookie scoops and they have wimpy gear in the handle that just doesn’t hold up. This one is made of stainless steel and has a sturdy handle system. I am so very happy with the way the Jenaluca Cookie Scoop works. It makes nice, even cookies each and every time I use it.

Simply good to have on hand for a variety of uses such as cookies and muffins.
