Product description L.R.BAGGS M80 Acoustic Guitar Pickup [Parallel Import Product] /////////////// / The M80 combines the ability to capture the acoustic sound of the body so you can think of a magnetic pickup and play the sound of body tapping. Body tapping sound has been improved by about 200% compared to M1 with more realistic acoustic sound. Your guitar's soul lies in the body, from the tone wood it was created to the details that it is bound to it. Standard magnetic pickup hears only dry strings and produces a "electric" sound that abbreviates the guitar's true acoustic voice. In contrast, the M80 listens to the full frequency range of tone wood to bring warmth and complexity to amplified sound. The secret to the M80 is the patented free-floating humbucking coil that acts as a 3D body sensor. Because the soundboard resonates in all three dimensions, the unique suspension allows each axis of the humbucking coil to respond to the guitar movement. The resonant signal is generated and blended with the string, and will not capture the guitar like other magnetic pickups ever created. In addition, the M80 can be selected to active/passive settings via the switch on the back of the main unit. Active settings use a preamp with built-in EQ and audio fill circuit, to get that "high-fidelity" sound. We recommend using an external preamp if you bypass the preamp to passive settings.
