So what does one get the husband who already has an extensive sword collection? Another sword! This time, a Jian. It's beautiful. The details are eye catching and well done. I like the craftsmanship. This sword by the way is heavy. It is a good solid piece. The hilt and tang are tightly bonded, so no loose blades like you get sometimes in decorative pieces. And it's sharp. Not just decorative sharp, but sharp like you should make sure your kids don't touch it. For those who want to take it out and hack up trees with it, probably not sharp enough for that, but you could cut a thumb if you weren't careful. For those who want to sharpen it more, do a little reading on how to properly sharpen it, and know that you will end up scraping the color off the edge.For the husband, it's sharp enough. He was thrilled to get it.

I bought this because i wanted a Tai Chi jian that was unique to me. And, I also wanted something that would inspire me to train harder. This met my needs and then some! I was greatly intimidated when I unsheathed this weapon; I own a practice sword that's much lighter than this, and looks more like an exhibition piece than a weapon. This Longquan sword looks like it belongs in the temples on top of Wudang Mountain! Plus, It's solidly built for real battle. Don't mess around with this blade, if you don't know what you're doing!The details are stunning,and it IS very sharp! Which is also intimidating, since i'm but a learner at this point. But, the weight will go to great lengths at developing my strength and form. I totally LOVE it!It arrived sooner than predicted and I was thrilled to see it on my front porch this afternoon! It came well oiled, the edges are clean, sharp, and straight. The hilt is longer than my practice sword; accommodating my big hands. It feels wonderful in my sword hand! The pommel and blade are nice and snug; no rattling or looseness! The sheath is nothing to joke about either; one could very easily block an attack or even mount a counter with it. It;s that solid.This blade surpassed my expectations. Once I've grown stronger with it, I may buy a second one; to honor those who put so much work into making these!

I received my sword abut a week ago. Ordered it and took a while to get. the anticipation was killing me. then an additional 2 days after the estimated delivery date it finally arrived. Product was wrapped secure. Pulled it out, and it was heavy. The handle and blade are solid!!. It is sharp but not Katana sharp. You can do that your self if needed.Cons: long time to get, not a shiny as it is in the picture.Pros: Solid, heavy, Sharp. Wouldnt bring it to kung fu class with others around.Conclusion, It's a well made product. I was skeptical, and thought it would be some china town flimsy crap. But nope!! i wanted something real and solid. This should cost more to be honest. so the price point is great. Just buy it.

Very strong and sturdy, heavy blade. I got this to give to my Kung Fu teachers a a gift. People say it's not sharp, I haven't really checked because it's 2020 and we are not chopping people down with swords anymore this will be great for when sifu does demos.

I received this sword on time and it is close to what it looks like in the pictures.. The blade is not sharp and I will have to look at what I can do to correct that.. Am considered that by sharpening the blade I will loose the color.. It is a very nice piece. Still it is not as bright as the pictures display.. The handle pieces were not tight when received and the overall weight of it seems off balance... All in all I am am glad I am not defending a kingdom with this blade... LOL.

This is absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. The craftsmanship is amazing, the colors are well like nothing I have seen before.It even came oiled and pre-sharpened. Straight from the LonQuan region.

not sharp，Badly worn

I waited about a month for the blue-blade sword so anyone who buys this, please be patient. The seller was nice to let me know it is coming and friendly communication. When it finally arrived it did not come in a box or include the tassels or a silk sword pouch like shown in the pictures or descriptions. The sword was super duct-taped for the delivery so it was a bit difficult to remove all the tape, and while removing the tape, some of the coloring from the wood scabbard also was removed. The blue was not like in the photos, overall it is very solid and handsome sword-my husband loves his new sword.
