Aquatic Soil
I made quite a mess with it but it was just what I needed to try my lotus seeds. Unfortunately, I planted them to late but have ordered new ones. The soil is nice and heavy so I don't think I'll have a problem this time. All in all, I am very pleased with it.

Great soil for lotus and lilies! Finally growing gangbusters here!
This is very expensive aquatic soil but works absolute wonders when transplanting lotus seedlings and moving them to the pond. I highly recommend you cover the soil with 2-3” rocks after you plants them if you have koi or they will go to town on that clay soil. I have found an even better way to stretch the soil further. Buy Special Kitty 100% clay litter (only sold at Walmart) and mix it about half and half with this soil. The bag says it it fragrance free, white and red bag. I also added some leftover pool sand and now I have more than enough for all 30 lotus seedlings. After using this they are already forming rhizomes!

So far, so good!
I know this is meant for Lotus but I got this for regular aquarium plants to be honest. So far it has worked well for that. I have yet to get lotus seeds, but I also heard that they're absolute nutrient-suckers, so I wonder how well this much would last a couple of them. Aquarium plants are quite happy so far. I put this soil into some filter bags and topped it off with sand so I'm not sure how much dust this might kick up. Decently priced I suppose, nutrient soil is always quite pricey in my opinion. Will have to see how well it lasts, my tank is still pretty new.

Works well if it arrives in a usable form.
The soil looks just as pictured, but it got everything it was shipped with covered in dust and dirt. Functionally, it works great, but I unfortunately did not get to use it all and cannot speak to the value. I did reach out to the Amazon team to let them know that this product was damaged as received, but there was no action taken so I am writing a review reflecting the state of what was received. This soil is not used for germination. Most of the water plants I have can be germinated in a water vessel on a windowsill and are later transported to soil once they have germinated and start to produce roots.

Great Freshwater Plant Medium
THIS...Is the Doter fresh water aquatic plant soil, and turned out to be a really good medium for starting my plant paradise. This 3.3 pound bag was enough for my 60 gallon tank, and I used it in conjunction with a rock substrate with high success. Out of the bag, it pours as a ball/clumpy dirt, but once I added my sand and a bit of water, it mixed well into a cohesive substrate. Once I had my plants in the water, I also found it easier to keep them in place as the soil worked as a sticker mud. It has been almost a week now and all my plants still look fantastic and are still in the same place that I left them. I planted several types of plants, and have found that they are all thriving. I found that this also has not adversely effected any of my tanks other aquatic life. Overall, I am glad that I got this as this has been one of the best functional items in setting up my tank, and has made tank life that much easier.
