I love this knife. It is literally perfect in every conceivable way. What one would use it for varies from person to person, I would imagine, but there are no shortages of purposes this knife could serve. In my opinion, this is a great camping knife. Okay, granted, it's better to have a fixed blade when camping or in a situation where survival relying upon a folding knife would not be ideal. However, this knife comes literally sharp as a razor blade and is capable of many functions. You can easily use this knife the same way you would a fixed blade, but I would not baton with it. You could do some light to even moderate chopping. This knife would certainly serve as a fine utility blade. Personally, I like the tanto tip for a stronger tip. This knife could be used as a hunting knife, fishing knife and, yes, this knife screams self-defense BEAST. This knife is made with great AUS10A steel blade, excellent grip for the handle which would be ideal in the rain or like I said as a fishing and hunting knife with blood or slime on it. This knife is perfect for what it is, built with quality materials, superb workmanship, and cast-iron vault lock but, with all of that being said about how great this knife is and how great Cold Steel is, do you know what I like best about this knife? The price.

This thing is a beast and razor sharp out of the box. I did my standard arm hair cutting test and came out with a Voyager XL sized bald patch, lol. I think most people buying this knife already own some Cold Steel knives. If that's the case, you'll love this. It's big, bad, and exactly what you expect from CS. Some people say that the pocket clip is too small for the XL. I admit it does look a little dinky compared to the Espada or SR1 clips. However, it fits nice and snug on my waistbands and I didn't need to stack 3 pennies underneath for a day or so to stretch it out. Works for me.This is not a good beginner knife for a lot of reasons. It's razor sharp, huge, and pretty intimidating (as it should be). Cold Steel is a legendary company. Who else provides such design, quality, and durability at an affordable price? Let me know, haha. Just kidding. I love you Cold Steel.

A really nice knife for the price. I have had this knife for three years and at the time I wanted to cancel my order neca7yhe only reviews I could find was talking about stabbing people.. I carry this knife every day and use it as a tool in my work as a plumber. I also cut both frozen and cooked pizzas with it, and scrape caulk from a wall or floor, it to mince onions and vegetables and chop potatoes. I use it for many things and the large size which looks scary makes it harder to lose. I get a decent edge on the knife and my co workers comment on how sharp it is, but I wouldn't try shaving with it, or stabbing people.

This knife is very sharp. I’m still getting the hang of the pocket opening feature. But I really like this very large knife. I plan on carrying it as an evening, out on the town knife.

It does the job and cuts very easily so be careful with your fingers. It is fairly large knife too.

The classic Cold Steel Voyager series is by far my favorite all around carry knife. The build quality, the ergonomics, the lock-up are all exactly why I fell in love with these knives and this brand. I especially love the grip texture in its Maltese cross pattern that stays in your hand like it's holding on for dear life. Keep up the good work and solid designs like this one!

This knife is worth the price it has the tri ad lock system the keeps the blade in place so you don’t get cut I love the curved Handle too and the blade is Razer sharp will cut through just about anything don’t try it against D10 or Aus 10 steel or you can risk breaking the knife you just flick your wrist to deploy the blade it’s like having a mini machete in your pocket

OK, this knife is typical Cold Steel quality, which means it's beefy and well-built, but isn't going to win any beauty contests. It's a great tool that will no doubt last a lifetime or two.However, and this is totally on me, this thing is HUGE. Like, really huge, almost absurdly huge. I know, it says right there XL and there are dimensions given, etc. But really, this thing is enormous. So, if you are thinking of buying this, make sure you really want a folding knife this big. Otherwise, I would probably recommend buying the regular size Voyager.
