Great PREMIUM country ham. Very lean; almost no fat. Need to soak it in water for about 10 minutes before cooking to lighten the salt. Works out to about $6.00 per piece, but is worth every penny.

I DISLIKE THE CONTENT OF THE SALT. AND THE DRYNESS. THEY WERE NOT FIT TO EAT. I SUFFER WITH HYPERTENSION. I TAKE ATENOLOL AND AMLOPODINE/VALSARTAN AND A DAILY ASPIRIN. I PREPARE THEM THE WAY THEY SAID AND DECIDED TO GARNISH THEM WITH PINEAPPLE. TOO SALTY. WE COULD NOT EAT THEM.WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED. For those of you who crave the flavor of Country Ham, Ray's will satisfy that craving. Let's face it not everyone likes Country Cured Ham, but for those of us who do, Ray's comes through in all areas. Easy to prepare...Less than 5 Minutes...Great Taste, especially when accompanied with a breakfast / dinner favorite such as homemade biscuits and Farm Fresh Eggs. Country Cured Ham lends a flavor all of it's own to any meal. If you have not had Country Cured Ham and have wondered about it, Ray's is a great product for introduction. A nice balance between flavor and saltiness that is associated with curing.

I've been looking around my local grocery stores for something like this and I've tried other brands but they were not as good. Saw this online by accident and bought one to give it a try. It's a big hit with my family. it's all gone and ordering more.

I received the product and not happy with it. Package is good and the cutting of the ham is OK. However, the problem is the taste of the ham was just salty and with unpleasant pork smell. Needless to say, this product needs to be fully cooked but even with that, the porky smell was still remained. I still have few more slices left in the freezer and really have no idea on how to cook it. Very disappointed with what I got.

Came fast and was perfect for Easter.

Ordered three of the premium sliced packages two of the packages arrived and were completely full of air opened one of them and the food smelt rotten

So Disappointed! After giving Ray’s a “Glowing” review of their Biscuit slice’s I decided to try their Premium selection; Black Label steak cuts!! Was so impressed with my first order (biscuit slices). I couldn’t wait to try these “Premium” cuts! So Sad! I do like the thicker cuts and are very tender! Full Stop!!! This ham smells and tastes like most other brands I have tried!! And that’s not a good thing! Being from NC and a ripe old age of 81 I have tried a bunch of Country ham! Maybe it’s the preservatives or whatever they have to use now; I don’t know? After soaking it did taste better! But that also removes the “natural” flavor and salt as well! “Country” ham is supposed to be Salty! Three stars! Very easily could have been Five! Good! Just not Great!
