Excellent product that works very well to get rid of sewer flies. Highly recommend.

This product worked great for me. Followed the instructions and eliminated the drain gnats. I also followed with a boiling pan of water later that day.

It seems to have ridded me of drain flies, but a thicker compound would work better, I think. Nevertheless with 3 days of treatment and a cover on the sink drain, my insect problem is gone, for now.

easy to use and had good results. Had a big problem with fruit flies, saw them around the sink drain, used 1st day and then again 3rd day. Seems to have cleared up the problem. just shake bottle to mix, pour around edge of sink drain to coat side walls of pipe and let stand over night.

Ok, I apologize in advance, but this WILL be long. I have had these annoying flies in my home for a few years now. I originally thought it was the house plants so I got rid of them. Then the dog food was infested...got rid of that too. I still see them. They fly in front of me and I notice them mainly while I am on the computer. Sometimes they stop on the monitor when I SMASH them. I SMASH them sometimes on the bathroom vanity mirrors too. Luckily, the monitor and mirrors have never broken. To be honest, I don't know what they really are. I have read for countless hours and looked at hundreds of pictures.....fungus gnats, drain flies, fruit flies.....I can't even read what I am typing without glasses so I suppose my chances of correctly identifying them are nill. I have no plants or fruit laying around in my home. I think that leaves the drains left. I have 9 drains that I am attempting to treat. Not sure if this matters, but I am on city water so I do not have any type of septic tank issues. I also clean my drains regularly with a hard brush. When I look into any drain in my home, it is white and pristine. I had my garbage disposal removed years ago. The only drains in my home that ever get funky are the ones where I brush my teeth so I make sure to clean those 2 drains more often and thoroughly. I think it is from white toothpastes that contain calcium. I'm slowly getting to a point here. My bathroom sinks have the sinkshrooms in the drains. They kind of "hug" the drains about 1.5" into the drain and do no let hair go down. If I am trying to spit toothpaste into the drain, I have never noticed it clog or slow the drain at all, ever. I am AT my point now. The point is, I have overflow drains on all of my bathroom sinks. I have never used them for their purpose. They just kind of exist there. BUT the sinkshrooms seem to hold that toothbrushing spit and from there it has backed up into the overflow drainholes and then they eventually drain some of whatever was in them. There are 4 overflow drain holes in each of my bathroom sink drains. I had never cleaned them out before because I never knowingly used them and kind of never really noticed them until last week when I spent 3 hours on each sink cleaning them out. THEY ARE GROSS and filled with funk that grows. I had my waterpick shooting water into them for over an hour, then I got my drain brushes and cleaned them from the top, then from the bottom up in each of the 4 overflow holes in the drain. sprayed cleaner, repeated everything until the brushes came out clean every time. Yes, I'm anal. I did this to each sink and it took me 2 days. Yes, I would absolutely think flies were attracted to the funk living in there! I say all this assuming this product is the bomb. If it does not work for you at all, try looking to see if your overflows are gross. You many need to treat them as well as clean them. I, soon, will be replacing my counters and the sinks too and I can assure you the new ones will NOT have an overflow drain. It was really as gross as a garbage disposal that had never been cleaned before. So, I went through all of that, and I still have a fly. I never had an overwhelming problem with these flies, it is just one or 2, but it is daily and annoying. My toilets are both brand new, 2 weeks old, they are sealed at the bottom with new grout. They are not the issue. Bath and shower stalls and bath overflow drain were cleaned as well. That leaves the laundry room drain which is a pipe in the wall. I am hopeful this will eliminate the problem, but the whole point of this review is to CHECK YOUR OVERFLOW DRAINS IF THEY NEED TO BE CLEANED TOO! UPDATE: I have used this gallon and it went very quickly in my home. It did not work. I resorted to purchasing an indoor/outdoor bug zapper and turned it on at night in my dark kitchen. Every time I turn it on, within 10 minutes I hear the sweet sound of success. I have only zapped 5 of these in the past week, obviously I don't have an overwhelming problem, but it is still annoying just the same. I think if I was willing to spend another 60- 120 on this product and treated every drain nightly, I might be satisfied, but definitely poorer. I will see what I can accomplish with the bug light only first. I may be back to repurchase this. In any event, I do LOVE the citronella scent to this. I am not completely sure how this is supposed to work, whether it is by coating the drain and smothering any larva that may exist there, or by the citronella oil in the product. In any event, what I did notice with this product is that the gel dries overnight and then turns into a dry film that coats everything it touches. That film seems to wash down the drain. It appears to have gone down in one huge piece down the drain until the water gets hot. I am hoping the hot water melts this dried film but I have not noticed any clogs either way. I noticed all of this because I coated the end of my tub with this too because there is a dip in the tub that likes to hold water....

I used this stuff for over a week and saw NO change, the smell was making me sick YUCK. I then did bleach for three days and hot water which helped better than this stuff. The problem with this I learn quickly by doing much searching for something that works, that bleach was bad or hard on your pluming, then and now I am simply just using boiling hot water that was advised by another review. It was stated to do this many times a day for a week. I have been doing this 4x's a day, morning, afternoon, evening and before going to bed (being consistent) no less than 3x's a day. it's now 6 days and I haven't seen any in the last two days. Although I have not let my guards down because first, how much these flies were driving me crazy, beating me to my food, NASTY. Also my guard is still up high because of knowing how often they lay eggs, my hope is to get any and all that may have not come out. I also have been using the VEYOFLY TRAPS, but keep in mind that's only to catch the ones that do come out, I had that as well a small cup of vinegar and a drop of dish liquid both were an excellent help to catch. My trap and vinegar caught many (vinegar must have very little dish liquid. This is what I first started with. Since using boiling water, there have been less and less on the trap and none in the vinegar. I don't want to just go on and on, but there was a reason why I haven't used Drano, though I seriously not done yet (not comfortable). I still keep my drains closed. And I will continue using the boiling water until at least a week of nothing on the traps or in sight. I will then try to remember to flush my drain at least once a week for my comfort. Oh and for three days (1x in the day) I poured a little vinegar over my drain cover, with the hope some would seep in before I opened the drain to pour in the hot water. Just a little and only 3x's, wasn;t sure if this was harsh on the pluming, but it sure to help, from any escaping for I getting my water down. I sure do hope this helps some one, if they feel the way I feel about these annoying bugs, which made it worth my time to do the work. I can relax better when eating now.

I will try and keep this review short and hope that it helps you with your gnat problem. I came home from work one day, last September, and noticed a few gnats, but didn’t think too much about it. I had never had a problem with gnats, I never dreamed I would spend a year trying to get rid of them. I bought some window adhesive strips and put on the window in the bathroom, that is where I saw them. Within a week of that they were growing in numbers. I first tried bleach, then tried using baking soda, salt and vinegar for months, that didn’t really help. I wasn’t sure which drain they were coming from, be it the shower drain or sink drain or both. As time went on the gnat problem was growing. It’s now 5 months later and still have the problem. I called a plumber out, he said, Oh, you need to call a pest control company. I called a pest control company and he said use Vinegar, salt and baking soda. LOL I went back online and purchased a KATCHY Indoor Insect Trap: Bug, Fruit Fly, Gnat, Mosquito Killer - UV Light, Fan, Sticky Glue Boards Trap Even The Tiniest Flying Bugs - No Zapper. This worked great! Well, I thought it fixed the problem. But no, gnat problem didn’t go away, because I had not gotten to the root of the problem. It’s now 8 months later. I went online and read and read about gnats. What I was learning was that I need to get rid of the larvae in order to get rid of the gnats. I found Rockwell IBDC128 InVade Bio Drain Gel. This is a great product. It really cleaned the walls of the drain, but still didn’t get rid of the problem. Next product was InVade Hot Spot Bio Foam. This is basically the same product as mentioned earlier (Rockwell IBDC128 inVade Bio Drain Gel) but it’s in foam form. This is a great product, it allows you to turn the can almost upside down, to spray foam in your drain. Doesn’t take much, so it last longer. But, unfortunately that didn’t get rid of the gnats. So, went back online and searched again for something to help me with this problem. Next product I found was Gentrol Concentrate IGR Insect Growth Regulator 10x1oz ZOE1006B and Green Gobbler Fruit Fly Goodbye Gel Drain Treatment | Drain Fly Killer | Fruit Fly Killer | Drain Flies Treatment | Fruit Flies Treatment | Drain Fly & Fruit Fly Eliminator, FINALLY I found something that was getting to the larvae. That is what Gentrol Concentrate IGR Regulator does. It kills the larvae. It doesn’t kill the adult gnats though. You will still have to deal with the adults until the product has successfully killed all the larvae. This can take as much as 2 weeks and then a week or so of treating the problem to make sure it doesn’t come back. The key is to treat the larvae everyday. Thank goodness I found Gentrol and Green Gobbler. I mixed the Gentrol with the Green Gobbler in a 16 oz squeeze bottle. Use gloves when handling this. It took 1 month after I started using it. I can’t say enough about Green Gobbler and Gentrol Concentrate IGR Regulator along with the KATCHY machine. They have successfully gotten rid of the gnats. You may not have the problem as bad as I did, but I wish I could have had this information to help me figure out the fix for the gnats. Lots of luck!
