It works
LQ Horse trailer has led lights on the awning, super bright and kills any good bonfire evening mood..Removed the on/off switch and replaced it with this dimmer.I did need to open the hole up to fit it. Works great and the leds dim down low to keep that bonfire essence 👌Update, 3-18-24This unit will still turn the led on however it no longer dims. Hopefully the warranty is a year. I will update as soon as I find out.Update, 4-5-24Contacted manufacturer through Amazon, warranty part should up ASAP.Installed and leds are fully dimming.I had to send pic of purchase date but there was no hesitation on their end getting me the replacement.

Easy to wire. Works fine. No hum.
This is a high side dimmer. I've installed it in the main salon of my Open Range fifth wheel. It controls 6 recessed 4W LED ceiling lights. I was concerned about install, but it was easy. However, I used a voltmeter. I removed the cover to the circuit breaker box and discovered that all wires connected to the negative side (ground) are solid WHITE and wires connected to the hot side are WHITE/RED STRIPE. The 2 wires connected to the back of the existing on/off switch are essentially the same wire which is the WHITE/RED STRIPE. It is the power wire. If you remove those 2 wires from the switch, one is coming from the breaker box (which provides power) and the other goes directly to the lights. This is where the voltmeter comes in. You have to find out which ONE of the 2 wires is coming from the breaker box. That is the hot wire. Connect that wire to the RED wire on your new dimmer. Connect the WHITE wire from your dimmer to the other white/red stripe wire that you removed from the original on/off switch (the one that continues to the lights). Now find the white wire that is the negative (ground) wire that runs close to the white/red stripe wire and connect that to the BLACK wire on your dimmer. You've connected what was a 2 wire switch to a 3 wire dimmer. The white/red stripe and the white wire are actually one wire (2 separate wires bundled together), however they are stripped apart in order to make the connection at the original on/off switch. I was lucky because when I found the white negative/ground wire, it was cut and the two ends were joined together in a wire nut. How I used the voltmeter was place the BLACK lead of the voltmeter into the wire nut that contained the spliced white wires and the RED lead of the voltmeter to each of the white/red stripe wires and see which one reads 12 volts. The one that goes to the lights won't read anything. AND, that is wiring a 12 volt dimmer for dummies. Hope this makes it clear for all of us electrically challenged souls. In the breaker box photo, you can see that the wires to the right of the blue blade breakers are White/Red stripe. Always turn off the circuit breaker for the RV at the pedestal if you go digging around in your circuit breaker box in the RV.

Made in USA with support in the USA
I have a 2016 Heartland Bighorn 5th wheel. They used single action switches from the same manufacturer. So not only do they work well, they match perfectly. Secondly, my wiring had two red/white wires crimped into one female blade and one brown wire into another female blade. These were the only wires for my old switch. Confused as to how this would work with my setup I called 5 minutes before the manufacturer closed and tech support stayed on the line with me until I verified their idea worked (and it did). Basically, in my case, both red/white wires were from the battery and the brown wire was from the LED Puck light. So Tech support said connect the red/white to the red on the new dimmer. Connect the Black wire to a local ground (I just added a ring terminal to the black wire and drilled a self-tapping screw to the slide-out frame that was visible through the switch hole cut-out). The remaining wire went to the LED puck light. Worked perfectly. I will definitely get more of these and highly recommend them.

Replacement for first first one
First one didn’t work. Replacement was sent quickly and works great so far on my trailer awning led’s.

Works great and looks factory installed!
I bought this switch to dim 8 overhead LED lights in a 2017 Grand Design Solitude. The instructions seemed straightforward but I couldn’t figure out how to connect it since the existing switch only had two wires going to it. Adding to the confusion, the manufacturer used white wire (color of grounds on my rig) as a jumper between two adjacent switches for the 12v power in. I contacted the seller and said the switch was inoperative. They were very helpful and sent me another one right away. The second one didn’t work at first either since I wired it wrong. I finally looked at a different switch going to a single light and discovered how to wire it up properly. I contacted the seller to pay for the second switch but haven’t heard back yet. This switch does not dim the lights all the way, which is fine with me. And they do have a very, very slight whine when dimmed mid-range, but you really have to listen for it. I’m very pleased with the product, the results, and the customer service. You will be, too. PS, I used the original dimmer in my bedroom and it works perfectly!

It will work with only two wires.
The media could not be loaded. My existing switch only had two wires. This has three, so as a genuis painter with zero electrical skills. I tied the black and white wire on the switch together and put them on the wire that goes to the light. It works as a switch and a dimmer. There is another review that says it doesn't work, it does and there's also a review where someone fished a ground wire through the wall. F all of that, it's a 12v circuit that has 6 volts to it. If I had to do it again I'd buy the smaller switch as I had to cut the wall opening a bit. It took about 30 minutes and I used solder seal butt connectors and a cordless heat gun.
