360 miles on my set
I do a 2-mile brisk daily walk on a gravel road, in a part of the country that remains snow-covered for several months of the Winter. When you plow a gravel road, you don't scrape the snow all the way down to bare gravel -- you leave behind a packed-snow driving surface. With temperature changes and sun, icy spots form -- sometimes huge sheets of pure ice. With these spikes, I have never fallen or even slipped a little. The teeth don't bend, and they bite in confidently. I have used them on trails with patches of dirt (roots, rocks) mixed in with snow and ice, and they do great. They don't squirm on my shoes and feel very confident. The weak spot is the chain-links joining the spiked plates. I have had a couple links "open up" leaving the chains loose and jangly. I bent them back with pliers. They held for several more months but recently some of the horseshoe-shaped links have completely broken. I repaired them with wire but am getting tired of making the repairs. So I'm calling them done at this point. At 2 miles a day and about 6 total months of walking (last year plus this year so far) that gives approximately a 350-mile lifespan. In contrast, my partner has the "name brand" spikes which cost about 4 times (no kidding) as much. She's had them for years and they show no sign of giving out. The chain links are clearly more burly looking. They will probably last forever. This seems like a very fair price vs. durability compromise, so I'm overall happy with this product. It is great for just-in-case or occasional use, but I am replacing them with the "name brand" ones because I plan many more years of walking.I have the XL spikes and I use them on insulated Columbia snow boots (size 10) and uninsulated Muck boots, (size 9). The spikes install easily and don't slip once installed. The included nylon straps are awkward and seem unnecessary; I have never used them. If I try to use them on my regular shoes, the metal/chain portion is a bit larger than the sole so they don't fit as snugly -- but will work okay.

Traction confidence
Worked great for my hike yesterday. Conditions were compact snow and ice - I had amazing traction and zero problems putting them on. The small storage bag is a nice addition.

Defined step
Order came quickly and far exceeds quality and functionality expectations. These are my first hiking cleats but after some research these appeared to be the best price without sacrificing quality. So far have taken two 5+ mile hikes on snow-packed trails scattered with slick gradients- after which the steel cleats hardly show any wear! I attached mine to my running shoes but designed well enough to be attached to boots or any treads. It is energizing to have every step defined and secure- to be enabled to walk on crunchy, crisp water! Since these are my first cleats, curious how to best maintain them (nothing included in packaging). Is it recommended to rinse them if they get muddy? Possible slight enhancement- having both Velcro open from distal edge of foot. Overall very pleased with purchase.

Great traction but some issues
I've only worn these once so I can't comment on durability but overall I was happy with the performance of these micro spikes. However, I'd like to make these comments/observations: if you're looking for traction on ice and icy dry snow, these will work great. But if you're going to use them for hiking/walking in an area where there's been a wet, heavy snow and/or where there's debris on the trail such as leaves, you might want to leave these home (or at least in your backpack) and stick with just your hiking boots or a pair of studded traction devices. Wet snow and debris tend to clump or "snowball" in the spikes which could cause your ankle to roll. To keep the spikes cleared you have to walk in a scuffing/shuffling kind of way which is a tiring gait when hiking. I wore these today in just those conditions and ended up taking them off. That being said, I still think I'll get a lot of use out of them this winter. They have great traction and in light, dry snow or on a firmly packed icy trail I think they'll work just fine.

Absolutely Wonderful
Great quality! Easy to put on and slip off so you're not having to hassle with them on the trail. They actually make a WORLD of a difference! I used them on steep terrain with loose rocks, and they gave me a lot more confidence when walking on sketchy parts of the trail. The grip is insane and I'm in love

Great grip, good fit
I like the color, easy to differentiate from others around. Spikes are nice and thick, no worries about them bending. Great grip on icy surfaces. Good deal for what they are. Not very conspicuous, but you shouldn't expect them to be.

Highly recommend these, even for simple hikes in the snow and ice!
Used these on my trip to Yosemite and they were perfect! We didn’t do an extreme hike but it was mostly uphill then steepish downhills that were full of snow/ice. I am a clumsy person and these saved me from falling down on all the black ice. My friends had crampons and those did not hold up as nicely as these did. At first I felt ridiculous being the only one wearing these, but once I noticed that I was the only one who could actually do the hike without a problem I was super happy! The hike down was a breeze, I had lots of traction (everyone else was sliding constantly). Mind you, I am clumsy, so I still found a way to fall. The claws are big that if they get stuck to the other shoe you are going down. As long as you don’t get your feet to close to one another you should be golden!Pros:They stayed on my hiking boots no problem! They had amazing grip on ice!
