Review: I’ve been using this cooler for over two years on multiple trips, and it has performed flawlessly. It runs equally well on 12V and 120V power, is quiet, and delivers excellent cooling performance. Because it uses a true compressor, it works reliably in all conditions. When my neighbor’s refrigerator failed, it was even able to keep her breast milk frozen. Be aware that if you set the temperature to 36°F or lower, items near the inside wall closest to the control panel may freeze.

I purchased this product five months ago in October, 2025 for a road trip from Texas to Idaho to California and back. It performed flawlessly throughout and fit perfectly in the backseat foot well of my Toyota Tundra. The interior gets cold very quickly, is well insulted and virtually silent. While driving, I kept it powered via the 12v adapter and would utilize the AC supply in the evenings in my hotel room. I just placed an order for a second unit for my upcoming road trip from Texas to South Carolina to Georgia to Florida and back. I’ll use one as a freezer and the other as a fridge. Highly recommended.

After taking a road trip with my brother who had a 4 year old, identical(but different brand) cooler in the 26 quart size, I knew I had to get one. We were on the road for 4 days and his cooler was on 24-7 set to 34 degrees. I felt inadequate with my overpriced W@lmart branded Y3di, plus the ice block things at $24.00 each, I had $60.00 more invested in my cooler than he did in his, and I was done cooling after about 18 hours. After tons of research and knowing that I was mainly concerned with keeping drinks cold, in particular tall, one gallon water jugs. I did not want to waste any storage space on a silly tray side that was only 1 or 2 inches deep. I wanted the entire cooler to be one big space, I settled on the 30 qt. model of the BougeRV. It comes delivered on it's side (amazon outer box has arrows pointing UP but the BougeRV box inside is on it's side - which is really dumb). I let it sit about 5 hours upright (it was 90 degrees when it was delivered so the oil in the compressor is very warm and thin, that is plenty of time for it to settle back in the bottom). Any Amazon products I buy that use electricity, I plug them in as soon as I get them and run them a lot. I will run this cooler 24-7 for the first 30 days or until I'm outside of the return window. Too many reviews of people using things one time or not at all until they're outside of that window. Anyway, back to the review. Fired it up in my shop which was about 85 degrees inside the display on the cooler said 88 which is probably accurate as it had been riding around in the amazon truck all day. I set the desired temp to 32 and at the 15 minute mark it was around 50. It reached desired temps at about 30 minutes. I changed the desired temp to -8 and it took another 30 minutes to achieve -8. I then set the temp to 31, put it in Low, ECO and put several two-liter drink bottles in it and turned in for the night. I checked it first thing this morning, and as you can see in the pics, drinks were all around 31.3-32.5. If I measured on the wall of the cooler where you could see frost, it was 27-29 degrees. I think this might be where some people complain about the differences between temps of what they're measuring and what the display says. I'm only concerned with what the temperature is of the contents. Even so, if there is an offset, learn what it is and adjust accordingly. I would NOT let that keep you from buying this cooler. Lid seal is nice. It appears to have a hidden magnet latch because it latches somehow, you have to pull on it slightly to get it to release and you can hear it snap when it closes. It is whisper quiet. One thing I don't fully understand yet is how the eco mode works. As you can see in one of the pics, it's in eco mode but it is drawing full power. This was after I got home today and opened the cooler for about a minute and removed a drink to top off my travel mug. My assumption is, when the temp drop drastically (like when you open the lid) it goes into full power mode regardless of what setting you've selected until desired temp is restored. Then when the temp goes up a little like 1 degree with the lid closed it cycles on in a reduced power mode because it does run at 35 watts in eco mode after the compressor starts. Start up of any electric motor is a little higher load until is gets up to speed. On max power, I saw 70 watts on start up but eventually settled around 45-47. The only two CONS; I wish it had deeper handles for Man-hands and I wish it had a calibration mode for the temps. I have not witnessed it myself but I saw in several reviews that that is a common thing with other cooler manufacturers so that if it is a big issue for you and say you put a thermometer inside your cooler and it's 5-10 degrees different than the display, you can calibrate the display to match. Not really an issue for me, but I think it would be a plus nonetheless.

I bought this for my semi. I’ve had it plugged in running at 38° for basically a year straight with zero issues. It’s been in my passenger seat in a freightliner its whole life. I cannot stress this enough. But it if you need it. It’s spacious and I’ve ran into ZERO problems. I use the 12V outlet and it’s amazing.
