An Experienced Yogi's Mat
Update 3/4/2019: I still have the mat. It's going and going. I use it mainly for my outdoor yoga practice these days. One flaw that I noticed is that the mat has sort of taken on a curvature to its form from being rolled up. I can't seem to get it to lay perfectly flat at the edges. I still use it despite this flaw.-----Let me tell you all the reasons you will love this mat. Before I get started, I will tell you how I discovered this affordable yoga mat that has stayed with me for every hot, power, flow, restorative and vinyasa yoga class I have taken, ever since purchasing it. I, like many other beginning yogis, wanted to have the best yoga mat I could find. I looked online, I asked yoga teachers, I saw what yoga studios were using, and I watched a much of youtube videos narrowing it down to yoga mats like the Manduka Pro (which my boyfriend has) or the Jade Harmony Mat. For me, it was not going to be the Manduka (overpriced, and heavy/bulky) or the Jade Harmony (open-cell design which is gross because of all the sweat it absorbs). Instead, I took my brother's advice and searched high and low for something that would be: 1. affordable; 2. durable; 3. versatile for all the different classes and locations I practice yoga. This mat meets all those requirements and more and came to me via an online article, but that did not convey any sort of in-detail product review. It was a risk for me to buy it, but ultimately, I am satisfied and have kept the mat with me for the last few months and have tested it in a number of settings. Here is my pros and cons list:ProsWorks everywhere - I have used it outdoors, in studios, and at home.Has these two great center lines for building confidence and proper form. I love this feature. Its a great reminder to find proper form in every asana. I use it much more than I thought I would.Sweat-resistant - I took this mat into several hot yoga classes without using a towel (which I recommend bringing along for any hot yoga class), itheld my planted feet really well. Surprising well. I believe it is able to do that because it has these small circle grippy dots all over it and that is just the right amount of friction to hold me up. I kid you not that I sweat so much in hot yoga (and power yogas) that I really believe that most normal mats would never be able to give me grip, but this one exceeded my expectations completely.Color is exactly as advertised and I love it. It wakes me up.I never noticed a smell. If there was one, it went away fast.Easy and Fast Cleaning - the material really allows you to easy clean it which was one of my main concerns. I like the closed-cell format which does not hold onto any of my sweat.Nice Thickness - I like the thickness. It is much more supportive and gentle on my body. Since using this mat, I never feel pain or the hardness of the ground in my knees anymore. This was a huge bonus for me.Lightweight - I was pleasantly surprised at how light this yoga mat is. It is much lighter than my book bag and most things I carry. You will never feel the weight of this mat especially with the included strap, which I also love and use. However, if you are not very thin, you might have a hard time carrying it with the strap across your chest and back. But over the shoulder will certainly be fine. It is very adjustable so you will find what configuration works for you.ConsWhen you roll it out, you will notice that it does not always lay exactly flat. It holds some of its curve towards the edges. A really easy solution I use for this is I roll it up upside down which means whenever I open it, I flip it so the curved edges are slopping to the floor. Once I start hopping around on my mat and getting into warrior positions and downward dogs, the mat is laying perfectly flat and out of the way. That is my most honest and unsolicited review. I'm a yogi and if you need a mat that is affordable, but worthy of an advanced yogi, I would look no further. This did it for me. After several weeks of using it, it is holding up really well, no signs of peeling, or flaking, like the yoga mats from Walmart do after the first use.

Great cushion, great value
I am very impressed by this mat. Very light, nice size. It has lots of cushion for being of average thickness. I think the foam they use is denser than your average sticky mat. The microfiber top at first, feels a bit like the brown paper towels they use in public bathrooms, it doesn't looked fluffed up like suede when you first get it. I think it has a factory coating of some sort or it is just really compressed. I almost returned it because it didn't seem like it was microfiber at all. But after using it, the "nap" does fluff up to the usual suede like texture. I don't find it slippery and I do not practice hot yoga at all, mostly hatha and vinyasa. The only time I slipped a bit was setting my feet up for bridge, they wanted to slide away from my butt until I actually pushed up into bridge and there was more weight on my feet. I own and tried lots of mats; Yoloha cork, Suga recycled neoprene, Hugger mugger para rubber, Manduka Pro, Manduka Eco, Liform, Jade as well as your basic sticky mat. This mat is up there in comfort, ( the Yoloha Aurora cork is just as cushioned, but it tends to be slippery and Jade Harmony is also nicely cushioned but harder to do balance poses and the texture is too rough.) I like how the soft texture allows me to adjust easily without too much friction, and it feels good when flipping feet from down/up dog. Its nice to do headstands on, and the cushion is really perfect for my sensitive knees. I got the dark purple mandala color to hide dirt, (my Yoloha cork has stains from my hands and feet) and as a bonus the design comes in handy for alignment.

Great value, prefect for heated yoga
You know, heated yoga mats are relatively expensive. I've been comparing mat prices and materials and this one seems to have the best value. I have been using this mat and I absolutely love it. I bought my first one a year ago and it is still in perfect condition. I decided to buy a second one as a replacement since I have at least 4 heated yoga classes a week and the first mat was a bit dirty. I later on found out that you can actually hand wash the mat with body wash and hang to dry.

Great Mat!
New to yoga. Three months in and loving it! Bought this mat because I wanted a longer one. Thoroughly enjoy using it. Some folks have mentioned having had issues with slipping. I take at least five classes a week, am a complete newbie to the practice and have had zero problems so far. With the summer heat coming on, I may chime back in with my experience with the mat curling. Other reviews indicated there may be a potential problem there. Time will tell as it rides with me in the balmy 100-degree Southern air for the next two months 😎. Note: I gave five stars on all but durability, to which I assigned a neutral rating since I haven't had the mat long enough to give a stronger opinion one way or the other.

sturdy
After about a year it's still in good shape. I like the center line that's not overly visible to others.

I’m going to use it because I bought it...
I have had this yoga mat for about two months now and I use it on a daily basis. I’ve used it on carpet and on wood floors. It is thick and comfortable. The texture of the mat grips nicely on my hands and feet. When in poses like downward dog, the mat does lift around feet (pic). I don’t often completely wrap it up but kind of loosely roll it and even then sometimes the ends won’t lie flat (pic). The lines in the middle of the mat (pic) on one side are nice to practice your alignment. The other side doesn’t have a line and is of another texture (pic) but I’ve used it for yoga and it works the same. I got the blue mat and it definitely shows any type of liquid (pic) whether that’s sweat, lotion, essential oils... I use witch hazel, filtered water and lavender in a spray bottle for cleaning and that works well. I’m going to use this yoga mat because I purchased it but I would not buy it again. I also felt completely harassed by the company to write a review.
